  1. I was the same, the time before the internet said log burners were good! I used to bring it back to the yard and just build it up, some people would help themselves to it, the firewood own log burner guys, then I got my first roof mount and before I knew it after a storm I had a big stack. Then the firewood guys would bicker and cause hassle so I’d build a big bonfire and torch it. 30-40 tons a couple of times a year. Looking back that would have been up until around 2010 too.
  2. Morning, clouds are coming over and winds picking up but still a warm day. Dog walk/swim up the river before the tourist turn up.
  3. Must of been some log pile Mick! Was it a few years worth?
  4. Morning, blue sky and roasting here already. Went for a swim up the river yesterday morning with the dog, think I’ll do the same again before it gets too warm. Enjoy your day guys.
  5. Morning, blue sky here and forecast 30 degrees. I got cooked yesterday morning and 3 hours was enough for me, I was glad of the rain and cloud tbh. dog to vets for his booster then a day of shade for me I think. IMG_5736.mov
  6. Morning gents, 19 degrees here with a breeze to keep the flies at bay hopefully. Not the greatest location today but I’ll survive.
  7. Evening gents, a good productive day here in the sunshine.
  8. Evening chaps been taking it easy this week so forgot to sign in. Hot 1 today, back to work tomorrow and Thursday.
  9. Morning, some rain through the night which will hopefully of put out the rekindled moor fires I saw yesterday outside the village. Bit of a chore day and some pricing for me. Enjoy! IMG_5679.mov
  10. Morning, raining here but nothing dramatic. Reminds me of the start of every summer holiday as a kid. Site meeting at 10.30am, village freeby digging at 12pm, pub for 4pm. Have a good day folks
  11. Morning, dry for now here. Got about 2 hours work on site to finish up this weeks job.
  12. Morning, hope your backs feeling better Mick, going by your pics you do a fare amount of graft. up and awake again early, think I have Covid if that’s still a thing. Been feeling shit since Saturday, sister in law was round last night who’s a school teacher and says it’s rife just now, someone crualaly found a kit and tested. Going to grab some breaky and go do som Robo work as the jobs out in the sticks.
  13. Morning, we got heavy rain last night, hopefully it’s put out the fires around the village and surrounding hills. Dry just now and blue skys
  14. Morning, dry here and winds dropped. Got a bit of lurgy creeping up on me, a day on the Robo so see how long I last if energy’s not the highest. finished by Skidder yesterday.
  15. Screw splitter is good but comes down to type of wood and operator. As far as boring down with saw, that takes away the point of having a seat and radio imo. You learn to ready the timber and follow the grains. Anything with knots takes longer, anything straight and clean just pops in half. I doubt you would regret the purchase.
  16. Nice 1 Doug , don’t compare yourself to Tom mate, he’s a very unique guy, the brains of a rocket scientist with the physical abilities of an astronaut! You’ll be clunky at first and then only when you get some horrible stuff to do you will get your flow. And as long as you have a few spare hoses and some spanner’s, usually 22mm or 24mm and a big shifter bursting a hose isn’t too dramatic. 😂😎
  17. Good morning, haven’t woken up fresh at this time in years! Cracking morning here, winds dropped and blue skys. The local rookery woke me up and I started Lego technics skidder yersterday so maybe that’s motivated me to get up ! IMG_5632.mov
  18. The more I watch clarkstons farm the more I think Gerald was Mendiplogs!
  19. Morning troops, off to look at a job at 9am then back to my job site for a bit of Robo work and digger play to move stuff about for a new dog park. I’ll be gone by 1pm, look at 2 local jobs, then pub for a few to ease into the weekend. Have a good 1, oh it’s dry here.😂
  20. I’ll find trees anywhere!😂
  21. Morning, up and away for a loop up by Bettyhill looking at jobs, fine smirry morning!
