  1. Morning, glorious again here. Weatherman says it’s to change tonight so farmers will be glad of the rain.
  2. Morning, dull and a bit colder this morning. Back garden dying Pine to remove. Breakfast first though!
  3. Morning, nice again here. Last nights sunset was cracking.
  4. Morning, sunny here again. Again heal quick Peds. local conny bashing then heading south for the rest of the week.
  5. A few days doing Ash Dieback, my first ones. Crispy is how I’d describe them. Certainly like cutting butter even when there isn’t rot. 14464160-7195-40CB-A00B-8FFDC784D6A3.mov IMG_5103.mov
  6. Heal quick peds! another glorious morning here!
  7. Morning chaps! Out early for a grapple day, I was too excited to sign in. first 1 done in an hour too a big scabby totem ready for felling.
  8. Morning, Maybe sounds a cool cut and jump job. Pictures would be good. I find these type of trees have a high chance to pull the roots plates up as the momentum picks up, so keep that power on and hold your ground, at full stretch obviously 😂😎.
  9. Thanks guys, I’m thinking an air spade and mulch and fence off if compaction could be the cause, the old ruin is getting done up with a big extension towards the tree so it will become a garden tree and no more traffic on its roots. I’ll pass the info on, cheers
  10. Don’t waste your time mate, you have to manipulate the screw head loads with the digger and that’s with multi function movements right in front of you, on a loader would be pointless. Get a big splitter if you have the tractor, we’ve just chipped in and bought this between a few of us. So much quicker than the cone although it is more labour intensive but not heavy labour. 11. Morning, sorry to hear about the car troubles! stunning day here, my main man Big Dave has done his ankle in so I’m going to be chief tree smasher today! Going to be a warm 1! But first, breakfast!
  12. This Large mature Beech is coming into leaf and there are no funguses or other stresses around the trunk I can see yet all other Beech in the area are in full leaf. Thoughts? Thanks
  13. Morning, the good weather continues. heading out with the dog a walk after being away all last week working.
  14. Morning, blue skies again here. Wee digging job today and some catching up with a mate. Enjoy
  15. Morning, another nice day here! Pottering and digging here.
  16. Late morning, I was up and out, honest! Doug I used to hate Stripping Ivy, eyes raw and coughing! Fine day here, wee favour job for a mate and just waiting to go get crunched at the Ostio.
  17. Register and you pay 20% on labour. itemise your bill. break it all down and say it’s a £10k job, realistically your labour might only be £2k. so they’ll take £400 off you.
  18. Morning, blue skies here.
  19. Morning, up and out to do a wee village favour for the community orchard. Blue skys here and getting warmer.
  20. Morning, cold yesterday and rain on and off. We had a firewood day and used the new splitter for the first time, really impressed. We’ve changed from chainsaw - log processor to now big splitter, billets and the new circular auto saw with conveyor should be here Friday. We still have some light manual handling but this should be a better way for all of us in our firewood sindicate as we are getting older. IMG_4945.mov
  21. Morning, cooler here too. Off to level off a garden after some building works then go see the lads on a job.
  22. Usually just to the side of the boom, it’s just a wee valve lever. The Yanmar are under the dead man lever on the floor under a plastic blank though just to be awkward. Dan I pinky promise I never got out the cab for slab stacking and the broken 1 was already broken.
  23. Morning, managed to sleep till after 8am this morning, like most I bet in here that is a rare thing. Drove back up the rd yesterday in 24 degrees of sunshine, it was great to feel the warmth. Lazy day here, breakfast, grass cutting, dentist then a wee Maccy D trip to Inverness with my good lady, she’s due a spoiling!
