  1. hardly any vibration but tougher on your forearms as there are no hadlebars, really powerfull machines:001_cool:
  2. STEVE!!!!dave is being rude, watch out bob will be getting a sneaky pm ready just for you:lol:
  3. i think i might have a light , let me have a rumage around. i came across some stuff the other day, there is something that you could have, i will stick it on the mike pile lol
  4. the backpack is great for bankings and big blitzes. not easy being delicate around lawns with it though if you are doing a spot of grass cutting. but it has loads of power. i sometimes stick the saw head on for doing jaggies
  5. you would need a stihl saw dave, it would be harder than hell i reckon:laugh1:
  6. nice one mike, my schiesling would look awesome on the front of her:thumbup:
  7. that is excellent, i have wanted a tracked barrow for years, my mate has had that exact model for about 15 years, it has never let him down, and he really loads it with turf. thanks for that mate.
  8. ropeguide, vt and hitch climber all the way, takes a bit of getting used to after so many years with a prussik, but once you get in the way of it, its great. dont be scared to ask stuff, thats how i converted. i am not as fit as i used to be but i managed 40 feet straight up a sycamore the other day after coming down for a cuppa, no probs with out stopping for a breather, and i wasnt goosed after it. for long assents you can just put a spike in your rope, put hte hitch further up and just arm over arm all the way up, i just need to get a pantin now aswell
  9. i just use my camera phone, save them onto my pictures, then do the rest through the site. simples
  10. i use herris fencing, i put a layer of pallets along the ground, reinforce the corners and middle with stabs and just fill them up and cover them withan old bit of cylage plastic and tyres. your local farmer will have all this stuff going a begging, and the herris can be sourced pretty cheap. each bay holds about 50-60 dumpy bags believe it or not:thumbup1:
  11. :lol:nice one rupe, do you think you could squeeze a big saw on the vice engine side towards the tow bar, good idea though, watch it doesnt get ripped off while tipping, or does it come on and off.
  12. i only dismantle 150 foot bigonias on mountain sides above shark infested waters dave, before 9.30am isnt an option:001_tt2:
  13. teas and biscuits are no longer a problem with a ropeguide and vt.
  14. give me a call mozza. i have a big back pack brushcutter surplus to requirements, i am sure we can sort out a deal that suits you mate:thumbup1:
  15. my only advice that i can give with the vt as it happened to me, is if you do a long decent, re tie it before climbing again, i got a scare one day, i came rushing down for something, then shot back up, did about 4 arm over arms and went to climb by a fork and it never gripped. but it was my fault entirely for not checking and going to fast, i was in a rush after my boo boo. it isnt only knott that needs re addressing from time to time.
  16. i bet you dont do it again, that happened to me once years ago, it was on an ash tree. i never cut myself but i did do something quite involuntery lol
  17. sorry missus, you cant leave that beech there, get it moved or i will get it towed away lol
  18. someone on here had loads of potato boxes, if you go throught the search you should find it, or he will come along soon. stacking with boxes or pallets wrapped in fencing is great as long as you have a level yard.
  19. ahh, the good old impulse by matt, i have sheds loads of crap you can impulsly buy whenever you want:001_tt2:or is that a contradiction of terms:confused1:
  20. how do i know you managed to find a source of said sticks for a reasonable price josh:sneaky2:
  21. i think there is a huge difference between someone rushing and someone quick at their job, i used to really go hard at it as fast as i could, but i loved it, it was like a race but i NEVER came close to hurting myself, but once i started to get a more stressfull life my head was on other things and i began to rush stuff, then mistakes can happen and concentration is lost, answering calls up trees, deligating from 50 feet up because you hadnt told the boys exactly what to do and just got stuck in. i watched steve climb last week and he looked as if he was having a stroll inthe park, he just flowed. but at no time did he rush.:001_cool:i know when you climb dave you are the same, you are in your glory swinging about the trees and you know what you are doing:001_smile:
