Think the best I've had is £100 so must have been too cheap to start with! Nicest pay was £600 a day climbing on a rush job to get a project opened on time and that was 10 years ago.
  5. Any thoughts on ads for this year? Yellow pages etc. Do you increase advertising in an effort to grab what little work there may be or pare to the bone and save a little money now?
  6. Dog crap...always ask client to clear it up and my favourite; while you're here can you?.....as if you haven't got enough to do.
  7. Anyone take much notice of 'best before' dates on food packaging? I rediscovered a box of Shreddies in the cupboard bb April '04. I must have opened them in 2003 and they're still My son never bothers about dates...relying on sight and smell but my daughter panics about a week before it's up.
  8. After a 'double bird strike' this guy saves the lives of all passengers and crew by landing in the Hudson river, New York. No engines and evidently no panic he guides his passengers onto the wings of the plane to await rescue. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/world/americas/7832439.stm

Duly reprimanded...it started with my college flashback and a reverse spiral into a woodwork lesson...oh no Moab was nearly my washpot.

Nails run a close second. One should not forget it's not the size of the nail but the hammer used to knock it in. I occasionally use the ball pein variety.
  12. I found it but had to sign up and certify I was over 18:scared1: Don't think the cottage cheese industry is what it was in these parts. LA cutbacks removing conveniences.
  13. R. cockburnianus.. ouch. That's got to be an association with 'cottaging'.
  14. You will. Hope it's correct:001_smile: Like a flashback to college days and a room filled with twigs for ident.
  15. An illusion? Shattered...I was enjoying the trip
  16. Can be fun trying to get more power by porting.....'cept when you remove too much metal. Good luck.
  17. Bigger porting would be the way to go wouldn't it? Just wondering why you'd use mesh to further restrict it.
  18. Done two in 25yrs. Bloody things are never grateful though:thumbdown:

I think all wails should be saved for the privacy of one's own home.
  20. As a youngster I found it semi-disturbing and have been semi-disturbed since. Excellent series and still with a cult following and many subversive/coded theories.

Only thing I picked up was something about four horses and seven seals. Obviously belongs to an animal lover so nothing significant there.
  22. A lot of dirtbike riders will advise; ride it like you stole it to run it in. Seemingly everything beds in better. I've always run saws flat out from the box but with a slightly richened top end jet. Weaken it up after a few hours.
  23. In my ephemeral existence I seem to flit from light to light. Now the confusion is cleared up I'm off to the next light source.
