I dont mean to sound daft but are you using the saw "properly" and not trying to plant potatos with it? lol and are your sharpening them? or just buying new chains once they are blunt?
  4. http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/large-equipment/9110-self-propelled-chipper-shreks-wee-chipper.html Found it! Traul through all the banter, its in there somewhere lol near the begining i think
  5. Theres a thread on it somewhere, try searching
  6. Thanks for all the help guys! Now to throw something else into the mix, ive just been offered 2.5k for it as it is. Ooo the decisions lol
  7. Been there done that, back in the day and all... TBH id be lieing if i said i wouldnt do it again. Let the criticising commence...
  8. I wouldnt fancy doing it full time, hand planted 40 heavy standard this time last year. Digging the tree pits was a killer! Not my thing, dont knock it till you tried it though, you may enjoy it All the best! Oh and whos it with, if you dont mind me asing?
  9. Is it really that simple? ive read so many conflicting reports that without actually having a disco engine infront of me i dont know if it is that simple or not.
  10. Yh ive done that mate, BUT now you've mentioned it im going to check again! lol
  11. Cheers for that mate, its all a pain to say the least. Borrowed a car for a week and kept getting stuck on grass, made me relise how much i need something like a landrover for the stuff i do. I dont have much money at my disposal atm which is a pain. Might bite the bullet and sell it as it is, yes im going to loose some money but least i can start again then.
  12. Its looking that way dean, may have to sell some cordwood off to fund it though lol
  13. Had a mechanic come out and look at it and he had a good route around and a listen and is confident its something internal, he couldnt be sure weather to say it was the big end bearing or not, but deffeintly something internal. He's a freind and very knowledgable and reccomended i just put a new engine in, as it would be cheaper. But i may contact him again and see what other options he has for me.
  14. Update: Still after an engine, trying to get a defender one so its literally a straight swap, although they seem hard to come by and the one i was after on ebay, well the bugger out bid me at the last second Getting desperate now as im not enjoying cycling about with all my tree gear on my back lol Next plan maybe to rebuild my current one, or chance it and get a disco engine and hope i can get it to fit without to much trouble. Dam landrover...
  15. You yanks always gotta go one better aint you! :001_tongue: Looked nastyyy
  16. Personaly i dont use one, just an 020 and loppers on small stuff.
  17. I was speaking to a NPTC assesor on friday and he was telling me how one arb company he has been doing assesments for have banned the use of silkys as so many people were cutting them selves.
  18. 2 men share a room with a bunk bed, the one on the top bunk has his girlfriend to stay, they have a secret code for sex.. lettuce = to go faster tomatoes = to go slower.. so when they start having sex the woman says.. lettuce lettuce, tomato tomato.. in the morning the man on the bottom bunk says.. can you stop making sandwiches in bed next time as last night i got mayonaise in my eye!
  19. We have an l200 at work and cant really fault it, its surprisingly good offroad with some good tyres, plus it has rear locking diff, dont know if the nissan has this. My neighbours got a navara and hes got constant troubles with it. I might have to convert to the darkside once my landrover is fixed up
  20. Nothing special, but i ran the 020 across the top of my finger a while back
  21. Makes for some funny reading that does
  22. Same as everyone else has said really, it was sold as seen. Yours wasnt the forestry registered one on ebay was it?
