No offence taken...........i've got a couple of days working with a guy who's got a successful business with plenty of work, i'm also aware of my own limitations so wouldn't be trying large section dismantles till i'm confident in my own ability...........just trying to work things out in my head at the min, i can get occassional use of a chipper, but if a time arose when i needed one of my own then its always handy to know the low down......... at the minute i'm finding out more and more each day i'm out. Although my website is up and running, if i was getting asked to do big jobs, i've got plenty of lads who can do the work for me, but i'll not be trying to run before i can walk..........

  3. Just trying to get a feel for whats on the market, then if a bargain crops up, you never know...........i just think its gonna be an expensive way of going if i have to keep hiring one!!!!!
  4. Where would be the best place to get a diesel chipper from, what sort of prices should i be expecting to pay for a half sensible one, tow along??

  8. Cheers for the comments guys, i think you're right about the dog thing so thats gonna come off....... Only been climbing for a few months, just been having a go today actually at a tree with touch tapes in for climbing practice, the college take times for everyone and i think i've just squeezed in the top 5 today.........

  10. Yeah no probs, there's a few things to add onto it still like you say a description of what the work is, i toyed with the whole gallery thing, but i'll be adding more pics to it soon........ i'm happy with it on the whole though, it'll probably get tweaked as time goes on too.

  12. What things have to be considered when looking at stump removal, can you do it on all trees or are there certain ones that have to be left?? cheers

  16. when i started climbing at college and took my own harness in, they said similar, that it'd need to be on loler, but they added it onto there records and it just goes through with all their stuff......free of charge!!!!!
  17. Thats more along the lines a was thinking, that its a legal requirement to have all your kit done and registered and checked.........
  18. After reading another thread on here, i was wondering whether its essential to do or not???? At college we're lead to believe that its something you have to do no if or buts about it????
