  1. Wait till you get to the level he's on about...................:mad1:
  2. That just gets annoying when you get to that level!!!!!!
  3. Have you never done touch tapes in a tree??? We used to have a couple of trees set up with touch tapes and they always have them set out on the edges, like people have said, highest anchor point possible, i think sometimes when we asked our tutor if our anchor point was alright, he'd tell us to go higher just to see if we could get there, some did some didnt but it was all good practice and got you getting out to the edges you thought were impossible!!!!
  4. I used a load of different ones at college and bought a kalibre multi-slide, i personally find it really comfy, but if you're spending the whole morning hanging in it, you have to make sure the leg supports are round the back of your legs, i also have a wheelans for my rescue kit.
  5. What advertising did you all do when you first started up your own businesses and what did you find an effective way of bringing in work, likewise what did you find didnt work and wouldn't consider using again??? Cheers
  6. Can someone point me in the direction of where i can get the kit for loler tagging everything???
  7. What price were they steve, before they went up????
  8. Touch wood this lime job will come off and i'll have some spare cash for one........
  9. Quality of work has to be up there at the top, its no good being able to fly round a tree if your cuts are **** and bad for the tree!!!!!!
  10. Cheers for putting that up........for the guys who use the POV, he said about the batteries running out all the time, how long do you get roughly out of them???
  11. no mate newcastle for me, its still 250 miles for me to travel, but worth it for the job i think, wont have to pay for staying there as my family live near by.
  12. I'm in the north east mate, but the job is outside of northampton!!!! probably gonna have to do it in week long blocks, hopefully a few lads i know will be up for a week or 2 away from the washing and ironing, living like men should.......
  13. Would that be on a voluntary service.............:001_tongue:
  14. Well i've just had a phonecall and it turns out there's at least 100 trees to look at and they think most need something doing to them, the problem is the jobs not local to me, so it means i'm gonna have to probably do a few visits with the lads to get the work done..........if all goes well though should be a nice little earner......................and will no doubt lead to further work throughout the estate fingers crossed.
  15. Graham i just think he wants to get them done as they've been left for years his words were to give them a helping hand. How much are mewps to hire???
  16. Does anyone use this???? if so is it any good or does it get in the way, also does it fit over spikes????
  17. I'm happy to price it the job a few different ways, i've not had to put in for a job as big as this one before, so was interested to see how other people would go about it. I've only seen pictures of a few of the trees so far, so wont really know until i've looked at each tree in person. But as said before, if the guy is happy with the price and the job, could be a good earner in the future, the amount of land this guy owns is beyond my comprehension, so might well lead to alot of decent jobs in the future!!!!!
  18. Its not from a survey, he's just asked for them to be cleaned up and any dead/diseased ones to be taken down, there's nobody else involved called in to price it, the job has come in by luck reallly.........
  19. Hi just a quick question to get your thoughts, i'm looking at 80+ 200 year old limes in an estate and then giving a price on the work thats going to be needed on them. My question is should i just price each tree individually, or give him an overall price, ie... work it on an average so it'll balance out over trees, ie if one needs felled and one just needs a lift and reduction, or whatever the combination might be, just charge him the same rate for each tree as there's so many................ does that make sense what i'm asking???? Cheers
