  1. :thumbup1:Yeah that makes sense.
  2. One of those small rope bags with the hole in the top and some tirfor shear pins please Justin.
  3. I won one of these in the christmas raffle and only got round to using it a couple of weeks ago. Tbh I thought it looked a bit too posey and poncy for my liking but none the less I decided to give it a try and what a brilliant bit of kit to have, no more fumblin' for the scabbard on the side of your harness. I even wore it over spikes yesterday and I can honestly say I will never climb again without one and many thanks to whoever donated it as I doubt I would have bought one and never have realised the benefits. Highly recommended:thumbup:
  4. Yeah the small porn mags take up alot less space
  5. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YRsXnUCMMqk&feature=related]YouTube - Midnight Cowboy - Everibody's Talkin' Song[/ame]
  6. I truly believe I've got years left in me as I've never enjoyed climbing so much in ages. The switch to VT and getting back in the gym has really turned things round for me....oh and not forgetting seeing the passion other people have for the job, when I really think about it it's all down to finding Arbtalk:thumbup1:
  7. At 48 I must be one of the oldest but since changing over to a VT last August I've had a new lease of life where climbing is concerned and reckon I will go on for at least another ten years. How long do you blokes reckon you'll be climbing for and who is the oldest working climber on Arbtalk?
  8. Dont be so down in the mouth about it Andy. You can still stay active with a zimmer or better still get the deluxe version with wheels.
  9. Decision making:lol: I could'nt decide how score myself on that one:laugh1: bob that list is missing one vital category 'Arse Wiping' 1, Finger goes through paper more often than not. 2, Waste alot of council paper and still leave skidmarks in pants. 3, Waste alot of paper but generally get a good result. 4, Use minimal paper and leaves no skidders. 5, Get a bottom of the pecking order employee to do it.
  10. Thanks for the offer but it's just the hedge I want someone for as I absolutely hate doing it. Nevermind looks like I'll just have to do it myself, but I'll certainly keep your number for anything else that might crop up:thumbup1:
  11. The only reason I put up the thread is cos Rich Rule is away on holiday at the mo but yeah it's a shame there's no takers, probably due to the sun coming out and now everyone is busy.
  12. Nah, I given up tbh. I think it's easier to rely on s/employed people and use em as n when.
  13. Thanks for that:thumbup1:Just called him but he's busy tomorrow. Kept his number for future reference though. EDIT:Okay Nick.
  14. Likewise Nick. Tell ya what I can sort you a days grounding on Friday if you want it.
  15. 'LOCALISH', ie 40 or 50 miles away. No takers as yet. Sorry Nick but I need someone with experience for this one but thanks for the call.
  16. I need a pair of hands for tomorrow to do some conifer hedge trimming so if there is anyone localish to me that can swing around a long handled hedge trimmer and can do a nice job then pm me or call on 07758585805 as I'll be out for a few hours this afternoon. ps, I'll pay a good day's money plus fuel costs if I see you can do a good job and I dont have to take over.
  17. Good thread Tony. I 'need' a ropeguide and although I would not buy a s/hand one it is still an interesting pointer. I wonder how many LOLER examiners are aware of this ?
  18. Wise move. A rat is more than a match for a ferret. I'd never use my polecats for ratting either. My little Jack is a different story though, he loves a bit of ratting.
  19. Let the dogs paw wrestle......the winner gets a can of chum.. Edit: I've got the perfect venue....Witherspoons in Faversham.
  20. You aint using my polecats, you can borrow Buster though, he'll show Betty a thing or three about ratting.
