  1. I don’t think that price is too far off in todays money, but a lot would depend on how you want it specced out. @Treetom15 has just had his done by Kirklands in Stoke and might be able to help.
  2. If someone headbutted your house and damaged their face would that be your fault as well?
  3. I’ve got Just Wears, which are pretty similar. Can’t be doing with cheapo scratchy pants where the elastic goes within a few months.
  4. I had similar Mick, I just couldn’t go out with her any more.
  5. It’s not the tree. It’s the fuckwits who built the garage near a 100 year old tree.
  6. Apparently, this never actually happened, but it’s still a great story!
  7. The Smiths were pure genius for me, so is The Boss. It’s good we all like different stuff, though. How boring life would be if we were all the same? Stubs and Steve, if you’re going to quote Morrissey’s brilliant lyrics at least get them right! Re The Beatles - My favourite Beatles story is that at the height of Beatlemania, a reporter said to John Lennon - ‘Ringo Starr. Is he the best drummer in the world?’ John said - ‘Mate, he’s not even the best drummer in The Beatles!’
  8. Maybe I’ve been hard on a few bands. One genius song like U2’s ‘One’ makes up for a lot of shite. Even The Pogues have loads of songs I don’t like. All of the bands previously mentioned in this thread are 1000% better than the crap that is currently out there though.
  9. DD I’d strongly disagree with. They’ve consistently performed good tunes for decades. C&D were a comedy act.
  10. Brave man. And I totally agree. Like Floyd and Genesis. A few nuggets of utter brilliance surrounded by utter shite.
  11. Just buy a second hand one from eBay or Marketplace. There are loads of good deals on nearly new stuff from gardeners and landscapers who have chased the easy tree money, then found it’s not that easy. I know, it’s not fair. All the other guys have big saws, trucks, chippers, yards, tickets, insurance etc. Or he good get advice on his climbing course? Pretty pointless using him commercially without tickets? Can you see where I’m going with this?
  12. Point taken mate, this will be regularly checked. Full beans when I pulled it out today, according to the readout. A very valid point though, they will all fail at the first hurdle if not fully charged.
  13. How dare you accuse me of self discharge, Sir.
  14. Crashed into a sycamore tree. Bang on forum topic!
  15. It’s a fair one though Mick. The Beatles did some amazing songs, but I think about 90% of their stuff is shite.
  16. It does. If I need to jump start a vehicle more than once a day I would probably give up on life! It’s not particularly difficult to recharge a decent flat battery, and as Dan said if it’s bolloxed then go and buy a new one!
  17. Turns out I didn’t buy the Noco one, I knew it was £90 though! I got the Halfords own brand one instead, did zero research, total impulse purchase. Unlike me, I usually research purchases to a Mendiplogs level of due diligence! Time will tell if it’s as good as a Noco. 1300A for the same money, so I’m not totally gutted. Yet….
  18. Yeah, the vehicle you are trying to start needs to have fuel in it.
  19. Is that Aussie welder lad not still with you Bob? Or it may T-cut out?
  20. I’ve just bought the Noco 500A one after a persistent starting problem with my chipper. It turned out the battery was goosed so I bought a new one. I thought it would be a good addition to the glovebox, though, although I haven’t used it yet. Annotating the Transit and chipper for a jump start was a pita. Apparently this one will also start my truck if required. Just as importantly, I will never run out of phone or vape power on site again thanks to the USB ports! Handy for events like the APF as well. Torch seems ok. £90 from Halfrauds.
  21. Old, dirty, corroded and dangerous. Your lanyard set up looks ok though.
  22. That was actually a reference to leaf blower courses, but you make a good point WC!
  23. Seriously, we should all just flat out refuse to get involved in this kind of shite.
