  2. This is a cool thread..lanyards are such a personnal thing..a good anchor point is one thing...but once your at your workstation,stropping in is the icing on the cake!

  4. I watched in utter disbelief as a bloke use his brand new imori rope to pull a chipper out of a tight spot! The rope was butchered except for the spliced end which had been tucked away so i salvaged it and it is now what i call my "Sports strop" i love it.. Simple and visible
  5. One more day to go...i gonna miss the Olympics...We hosted the greatest olympics of all time which was a resounding success and went without a hitch....brought excitment to Billions of people all around the world and fame and gold to Many British Olympians!
  6. The view of the Shard from London Bridge this afternoon...The late afternoon sun made for an amazing light! the second picture taken from near the underground station showing it,s neighbour getting taller and taller...

  12. Checking,double checking and triple checking is what climbers do...our life depends on it...it takes a fraction of a second to glance and gives peace of mind.

  14. Wilst down in Poole working with Yaffle Trees we gave a man in a van a load of logs....he was a fisherman and returned later with a live lobster we named Larry..Peter dispatched Larry that night.He was delicious.
  15. This is getting worrying...maybe a replaceable "Sheath" for the dyneema may be an idea that ART should look into...
  16. I am right down the country next weekend...shame cos would be good to link with you and Dan again and i really enjoyed the last reccy climb and got some great photos.Your tree looks like one lovely big green climbing frame with a sweet anchor point.

  20. Yes Mark...i reckoned about 125....ish.. That,s the first time i have used it and need to practice the setting up..but like Rob says it,s a good bit of measuring device once sussed..
  21. ......Eel pie is much bigger and round the other side. It,s has a boatyard,rowing club residents (including the man who invented the wind up radio and several artists workshops...it,s an amazing place...anyhoo back to the tree...i,ve installed "Forest tools tree measurer" Which is complicated to use so next app i got was "X Clinometer" which is just a digital spirit level and compass/gradient device...but best app i got is "Smart measure"...it measured it at 144 feet...but i have hearedd of one in Hampshire that is 170 feet tall....still it is a very tall Plane.
