Me too. It redirects to a non existant page. IF I hit a link quickly before the redirect then the site is ok. Justme
  3. I guess that "live" demo's are much better marketing opportunities than on line video's. Justme
  4. Is that a blokes 12" or a real 12" lol :blushing: jUSTME
  5. Find a greeny group & let them have it for the composting toilet. Justme
  6. Mill it yourself if you are able. It will be much cheaper. Justme
  7. Have you checked the coupling for wear in the actual ball socket? Could be either the ball or socket is badly worn (also used to be a problem with 50mm & 2" kit but I doubt its that). I get a knock but its only when using the ring & pin as there is play between the two & also on my drop hitch if I am using it. Justme
  8. That was my first thought. My second thought was cos its less likely the council will see it coming down. Justme
  9. If I am buying in some logs in 7' lengths for me to split & burn myself should that be 5% or 15%? I know if I sell them I should have bought it at 15% & sold at 5%. What about if I do both? Justme
  10. You have been very unlucky then. Justme
  11. Most hard drives dont die they get murdered (bumps knocks drops sudden movement whilst accessing data all take their toll). Especialy in laptops. Lots of laptops now come with sensors to make the drive safe in the event of danger. As drives are one of the few moving parts in a pc / laptop it no wonder that that is the most common failure point. Justme PS Maxtors do fail but less often than other makes & their warranty is (or should say was cos I am out of that industry now so it could have changed) one of the best. In general we found that IT kit either failed in its first month or went on for years. Hard drives had a failure rate of less than 3% (and we were selling direct to joe public which increases the failure rate in those days substatualy). The highest rate was on pci modems when they first came out but most of that was user error or storm damage.
  12. I use a prog called photoresize400. you drag & drop onto the icon one or hundreads of pics & it rsizes them to the pixel count in the number. So to get dif sizes you change the file name to say photoresize200 & get a smaller file size. Dead easy & once you get a hange of it you will have default numbers for diff jobs. I use 400 for forum photos. If you can find it you can get it from HERE Download should start automaticaly. Justme
  13. Also "cars" with more than I think 12 seats have to have a MOT after the first year when new not 3 years. Justme
  14. Unless wood becomes worth a fortune? Justme
  15. Why would no felling licence be needed? That seems odd to me. Would the checks have gone some thing like this Him, I have a few trees in my garden that I want to cut down them, thats ok nothing needed ???? Do they look "mature" to you lot? Or good enough / large enough to be worth milling? Justme
  16. If you are earning your living from your saw then it makes sence to spend big money on it. But for most home / small works users its just not worth spending big money. How many of you run round in £200k cars? not many. Why? cos its not the way you make your money so you dont need a race spec car. I actualy have one of those saws. Been using it now for about 2 years. In that time its been used hard for cutting trees down & doing fire wood. I also use a smaller Mac saw. I prefer the Mac as its lighter, smoother & generaly nicer to use but there are times when size does matter. I have had the Mac for about 4 years, Its about worn out now but I can still get spares so its worth fixing up. It starts It stops & its does what I need. It def would not suit full time day in day out work, but on the days I use it it will be running virtualy all day. The Mac cost me about £120 ins del & I have spent about £30 on non consumable parts (antivibe springs & clutch). The bigger saw cost less than £80 inc del & I have spent about £25 on a new chain break & air filter cover. So the Mac has cost me £37 per year & the big saw £53 so far. Even if they both fail tomorrow they owe me nothing & at those running cost rates it will take a long time before I have spent what one new big name saw would have cost. Justme
  17. We get that too but to a lesser extent but not from deer. Mainly from sheep (now fenced out) & squirels. They seem to attack the bottom of some trees & the top of others. Justme
  18. If you raise the spliter then you will have to manualy lift the un split logs up, which will be heavier than the split logs. If you have a naturaly sloping bit of ground use that to create the hight or lower the standing for the bag but watch out for the water table. Justme
  19. Yes WRC & looking for a full load now. Justme
  20. On an aside what would be the right way to attach a swing? Justme

  22. I would have to check for sure but I think so. Justme
  23. Hi, What sizes are the Douglas firs? I know some one that is looking for some (artic load) if they of the right size. Where are you? I am looking for some more Cedar. Must be 3.6m or more long & min 10" at the top but pref more. Looking for about 1/2 artic load but more for the right price. Justme
  24. HSE are quite strict on this. Even if the likely ocurance is low if the consiquences are high the "risk" factor is high & some thing must be done. If the consiquences are death (which they are as its in a public area) then even a very low likely hood of happening still merits action (even if that action is just to monitor more often or have a higher spec technical monitoring).
