  1. I prefer LWB Landy any day.
  2. No worries John. I'm a bad looser tis true. Well spotted!
  3. Was ur groundy as good up the tree though...be honest now!
  4. No mate its not true -there are some great ones I've met who have helped me a lot but there are plenty of socks too (deliberate misspelling too avoid moderation) What I think the consultantas suffer from is guilt for having been the first to defoliate Britain and thats why pomposity is their only refuge and the reason they want to rein the new boys in with their new fangled ideas!
  5. It was rigged i tell ya!
  6. sorry rupe i forgot you too!
  7. I dont have a gripe with any comps. Just responding to afew of the threads tonite , (AA membership etc.) and posing food for thought cos we all feel got at some times by big bruvva. Steve and t'other John - you win the prizes for seeing my sense of irony!
  8. Just read the AA Team challenge stuff for Bathhurst. Raised a few questions and thought i'd pee on a few bonfires. Why not eh? In our safety concious working lives where we strive to aid our employees with training, kit and low stress/impact time schedules for job completion, is the AA encouraging bad practice/attitudes with its 'are you arb enough' team challenge? Who can lift move the logs fastest, climb the tree quickest and reach the just reachable with points scored for the degree of safety used. Strikes me this is counter intelligent to what we are being forced into by legislation. Are we arb enough? Hopefully i'm old enough to know better. Maybe we can have a drinking competition too (at the same time anyone? -Shrek will lose obviously) Do we sign an injury disclaimer before hand and has it been properly risk assessed? Could the AA be seen as encouraging poor working practice? Don't want to be an old fart about this but it was my first reaction when i read the criteria for the competition. Any comments (other than -dont be an old fart) welcome. I'm sure its great fun - I remember being young and stupid just before my back gave out! What about a consultants versus arbs challenge (like end of term rugby/football at school)?
  9. I may have been being sardonic in my earlier posty but as i'm not sure what it means and am too lazy to find out i may be wrong besides its time to get the sangers on the bbq
  10. shrek if you can call magners cider you aint never tasted addlestones...proper apples m8
  11. I did the everest trek 10 years ago. Incredible country and people. any chance of a link on this as I've promised the wife a trip one day, good excuse to go back. Jiri to base camp and back 15 days (one day off)....beat that!
  12. even better m8. muchos gracias
  13. hmmmm obviously everyone on here huckster -so we can beat them on price and skills.

  15. Loadsa money and a perfect biz?!?
  16. Nice horse jon ...shame you had to cut up your dismantling rope though.
  17. As an association its not all one way traffic Lee; feel free to give to it too! (other than your fee!)
  18. Its definately worth the membership IMO but i do think they could offer the Arbs a bit more as i feel its very biased toward consultants (check out the conference programme this year and you may agree) although Bathurst probably fills in the gaps and is free to members. Just being a member now allows you to state that on your advertising which could be a good thing. AAAC will not help you in the private market I have heard and becoming AAAC has questionable relevance where ISO 9001 etc cross over it. Although i could stand to be corrected. Its only £100.......
  19. Definately one that I haven't got (surprise). I've tried a few and its a non starter at the mo from that aspect. My broker wont handle it and Event Assured wont either so could be a major spanner in the works. Any suggestions?
  20. In conjunction with one of my clients I am thinking of setting up a corporate/ kids climbing workshop. Any hints tips ideas welcome. Tree is a huge Turkey oak and we may use it as an educational tool as well (lessons on biology etc in the tree!). Any thoughts on equipment needed, to protect the tree, games or challenges whilst in the tree and legal stuff greatly appreciated. It is drawing board stage at the moment. Off to work now but will be on tonight.
