  1. At least the job hasn't trebled in size. Better than the customers who promise they'll "make sure that the leylandii/privet/laurel hedge is trimmed regularly now, so it's nice and easy next time you come".
  2. Nah, they're alright, just being "blokes". Apparently. Farage condemned for saying influencer Andrew Tate is ‘important voice for men’ WWW.INDEPENDENT.CO.UK The Reform UK leader said the misogynist online influencer had raised awareness of ‘men becoming feminine’ and stood up for...
  3. I'm not exactly sure but it revolves around abusing and taking advantage of women mainly I think. Plus persuading easily influenced men to give them lots of money. Oh, and not paying tax evidently!
  4. No suprise here. Andrew Tate and brother Tristan accused of serial tax evasion WWW.BBC.CO.UK Andrew Tate and his brother Tristan are accused of failing to pay any UK tax on £21m of revenue.
  5. Wordle 1,115 3/6 🟨⬜⬜⬜⬜ 🟩🟩🟩⬜🟩 🟩🟩🟩🟩🟩 Smooth this evening.
  6. I've not really been following this story, it's a bit tedious, but isn't it a case of state regulation? Or lack thereof? Sounds like another example of big companies, utility companies especially, being allowed to ride rough shod over normal hardworking working people who are just trying to get on in life. Those same people who pay their wages, those customers who they're meant to be serving. Just like the water companies being allowed to dump shit wherever they want, or gas companies being allowed to make ridiculous profits whilst ripping off their bill payers or train companies being allowed steal money for trains that don't work, or indeed HS2 being allowed to rip out 1000s of acres of ancient woodland, for nothing. A decent government wouldn't have allowed stuff like that to happen. These companies like SSE wouldn't be able to do what the fck they liked across the land, other people's land. BRSK are another one. A new internet company on the block who are putting up infrastructure all over the country. They seem to be able to put poles up wherever they like, not even local councils have any say apparently. So it's actually nothing to do with renewable energy, or net zero. Not a direct consequence at least.

  11. Nice one. Do make sure to protect the bark from abrasion at points where it touches the batten, if there's any kind of relative movement. The latter will be a lot rougher and tougher than the former.

I'd be a bit concerned about that. Nudge nudge, wink wink.

  15. Shed loads of cross cut saws as well, plus tools to sharpen them with. Someone was on here looking for one recently.
  16. Points for symmetry too.
  17. He might as well have given you the logs and burnt the barn in his wood burner instead.
  18. It'll probably be too cold for them now, thems fussy buggers! You've picked one of the hardest things I think. The herb type fennel might be worth a punt, very similar flavour and a doddle to grow in comparison. It'll look after itself, needs virtually no water.
  19. I think it works, to my surprise. I tried it with a young Hawthorne a few years ago, 1"- 2" dia. I used a length of roofing batten and kept it on a couple of years. When I took it off the trunk remained straight, which I wasn't quite expecting.
  20. I think water is your friend here. Definitely with fennel, they're very thirsty. Plus lots of sun. Not sure about carrots, though they are cousins.
  21. You're missing a few key words there fellas. (Farce, insanity, lies, utter.........) Anyway here's some pigs blood kefir to calm us all down.
  22. Wow, who knew capillary matting could be such a talking point? It seems almost as captivating as Covid, we could be up to 1000 before we know it! Yes, it could also be blocked pores - it does get right gunged up with agae after just one season. Time to replace it anyway, I could do with a non-plastic alternative if I bother next year.

  25. Ummm, that is a very good suggestion, I do believe you make be right. Something has definitely changed from last year.
