  3. Maybe it sucks?
  4. I did one similar for a customer once. I found it surprisingly difficult I think because you can't see the end of the "blade".

  6. That perfectly illustrates his point. The business about lefty students getting radicalised at college/university is a Daily Mail trope I think. Certainly is in my experience. I had zero interest and only very slightly more knowledge of politics at that age. The same for everyone else I saw around me. People are there to drink and other stuff, chase the opposite sex and generally have a good time. Other than that it's just academic learning. Politics doesn't figure at all. It's that old Correlation/Causation conflation again.
  7. Meanwhile..... Here's another mega maga fan. Britain wants to be part of 'second American revolution', Liz Truss claims at right-wing conference in Washington WWW.LBC.CO.UK Britain wants to be part of the "second American revolution", Liz Truss claimed as she announced a new "free speech media... Do we? I don't think she can really speak for the country, given her infamous 49 hours. The woman is like that stubborn floater that refuses to get flushed away. Zero self-awarenes.

  9. You're right, about him being on the BBC, Id forgotten that. It was a late night comedy program on live radio. Not really that funny, the couple of times I heard it. I meant in a serious political commentary type of role though. Interesting idea about him being a closet Tory. Why so? I don't see it. I remember Laura Kuensberg holding Boris Johnson firmly to account numerous times, despite her being an out Tory. She was good.
  10. Beautiful. Cut with a knife it was meant for too.
  11. You beat me too it. They should get this bloke a regular slot on the BBC, to tell things as they really are. He might have to sanitise his delivery somewhat.

  13. Here ya go, get yourself one of these, it must be the best. WTF is that thing on the front about?
  14. Indeed. But tastes can easily change, especially if they're flavoured by economic motivations. The bland and flabby crap just needs to be priced to reflect it's true cost.
  15. I'd be tempted to agree with you. A nice idea in theory maybe, but not practical in reality, on a heavily populated island with lots of livestock around. Seems like bit of a sledgehammer to crack a peanut type of idea anyway. The huge deer problem surely needs attention but that can't be the easiest solution. We just need to properly cull the buggers and get the meat on the supermarket shelves, pronto. That'd kill a few birds with one stone as well.
  16. Mondell What you doing in Afghanistan?
  17. Where is here? Pine trees and hot, ummm. Do you know what kind of pine?

  19. Hypothetically. The only way to realise the true "value" of the car is to use redirects so that the anchor line is pulling it straight up.
  20. We may have done so in a previous reincarnation.
  21. It's not an altogether preposterous idea it's true. How do you factor in Israel and Iran though? The US and Israel are bezzies, Russia and Iran are bezzies, but Israel and Iran are sworn enemies. That's going to be one big, busy, uncomfortable bed.

    Resoling

Sad times indeed. It's a shit throwaway society we live in. There is some hope maybe, with things like the Right to Repair movement gaining momentum. A decent local cobbler is worth their weight in gold. I've had a few pairs of shoes saved from the bin on a few occasions, and the guy has only charged a pittance really. Hiking boots are probably a bit too specialised I guess, unfortunately.

  24. He's doubtless been the target of many assassination attempts already. Like any good crackpot dictator though he is hyper-paranoid about it so has escaped this far and as a control freak he's made damn sure no news of any such attempt has been published. Heaven forbid he were to show any human weakness. Also, I suspect that the majority of the Russian people have no idea of the true scope of his horrendous deeds. Such is the scale of media control and propaganda. So maybe, there's not that many of his subjects within the country how actually want to kill him. It's a great shame for the Russian people, and the rest of us, that Putin was able to get to Navalny in the end.
