People have used many applicable words to describe him, non of them complimentary. A complete and utter lack of respect for anyone but himself is as good a summary as any. Obviously vengeful as well. He's either an under-rock dweller of the highest order or indeed a sociopath. Either way I don't believe he is welcome, liked or even respected by the vast majority of decent Arbtalk users.

What a delicious irony. Serves the stupid hypocrite right if he can't now get enough EU staff for his pubs after he helped to get them all kicked out. Good beer and cider though! It's also a rare treat to actually be able to talk in a civilised manner to your friends, without having to shout above overly loud music in the background. I was listening to a report this morning about the troubles being faced by the hospitality sector, pubs in particular, due to the post-Brexit labour shortage. It is a real phenomenon.

Like all good ciders. Deceptively strong and very drinkable. I made a batch once that was barely distinguishable from apple juice, yet after a couple of pints you were almost legless, literally! Old Rosie is very good by the way.

Since they joined I've learnt to have a bucket full of salt at hand every time I open Arbtalk. Slugs and other under-rock dwellers don't like salt. -

Sadly that halcyon time is at an end. The main protagonist is back and I'm sure his angry little hanger on is waiting in the wings, hanging on his every word. -
This could go in the "Show us ya birds" thread, but I want to put in a good word for Tits, (the feathered kind!). We get loads in our garden. Probably because we feed them well and also got some currently nesting in a box. I often see them hopping around on trees and shrubs. I think they're picking off insects, probably aphids and caterpillars mainly, so they must be really good natural pest controllers.

How does that work, what kind of cotton? I've never had problems with sparrows, don't want them by the sounds of it! We get them but not seen them on the beans.

Are they sweetcorn in that first photo Gary? I'm growing some this year for the first time. I've not planted them out yet due to crap weather. I've only got six plants, I hope that's enough. Since they're wind pollinated I was originally going to plant a block of nine, but three didn't make it. Got any tips for sweetcorn growing?

Reckon they'll be ok. As crap as this weather is we must have seen the last of the frosts now. On the other hand they may get flooded or blown out of the ground!

The interesting thing is the comments from people after that Twitter video. Their observations of things that were better about life back then in 1967. For instance:- People talking to each other due to no mobile phones, No fast food rubbish everywhere No obese people No food grazing

So this must be a tribal thing as well; being overly concerned about which end of the pond you inhabit. Most of us have evolved beyond pond life now chap, so don't need to concern ourselves with which end we and others are in.

Thanks for the lesson on isms and ists! It's all a bit us and them though isn't it? There's actually a lot more to life than being part of a tribe. You should try to experience the world outside the pond, and away from the keyboard, now and again. Being in a herd isn't necessary.
