  1. chin strap? whats a chin strap? haha. A climber is nothing without good ground staff. Having ground staff willing to make coffee, buy lunch and pay me money to climb up great big living organisms makes my life complete. muhuhuhuh.
  2. didnt realise that, I'm off to buy some now tho, haha thats all i needed to hear.
  3. Amazing dianosis, superior assessment, great ground staff, just a shame I dont advertise 24 hour call out, teehee. Surprisingly, no fence panels were damaged in the butchering of that oak unlike more recent episodes.
  4. yeah phone lines have loadsa give in them, can usually move them a good few feet doing this.
  5. dangerous trees are for platforms. hahaha or subbies hahaha
  6. tend to use cranes more for making large money in small time, so as to get a workload cleared, or if large timber is wanted to be kept large, not for danger reasons.
  7. managed to get the range rover sport and Mercedes cl63 amg out of the way but the porsche wanted to be part of the action.

    Teabaggin'

It has here. hahahahaha But whats sooo wrong about a 5 page thread about Tea. This country was built on the stuff. apparentley.haha
  9. I was remarking on the rednecks comment.
  10. from the sunburn??? shouldve had factor 15 at least.
  11. 2 most recent crane assists.
  12. Got a job in pipe line that I will get you involved in matey, 2 big beeches. Would be really nice dismantling but I want the timber in BIG pieces so may aswell have crane do the lot. we could have tandem climbers with crane assist. Dueling ms200's haha
  13. I do a fair bit with cranes my mate, and the crane driver I work alongside is amazing he knows exactly what his machine will and wont do, has the chain where he wants it before I can scramble across sometimes. Balance is a major factor, bouncing weight is no good. Your cuts need to be right as well so the crane can lift big stuff off the tree as if it were lifting off the ground, not having to yank or strain to snap off timber.
  14. I do blame "americanisation" for alot of Britains troubles, gloryfying "gangster" culture. We are no where near as bad as some parts of the states but the poorer the porr people get the worse the problems will become. i think it also has alot to do with lack of ambition or plans for the future. It is sooooo easy to just have kids and get your rent paid then their kids are looking upto role models who have no future and zero ambition. "babies having babies, who grow up to rob old ladies."
  15. Spike is nearly 12 and is the most stupid creature on the planet. I mean stupid in a good way i.e daft, lazy, forgetful, but most of all he is lovable and huggable. His bark will scare even the most hardened postman, but only barks when he cant see who/what is making the noise.
  16. The first story about the curry made me laugh and reminded me of a few nights out around Hudds and Halifax, although in this day and age youre friend couldve had his nose broke or even worse for that curry. The second story is the exact reason I am dreading my 7 year old lad growing up anymore, I know I cant keep him inside forever (unless I force him to become addicted to one of them online pc games, world of warcraft etc hahahah), but it really makes you wonder where anyone is actually safe nowadays. Peer pressure and "respect" have gone sooooo over the top its untrue. I strongly believe the police and judical system needs to be FEARED again, because at the moment it seems it's cool to be bad.
  17. Walking round their local garden centre the Lady will have said, oooh I really like them blossom trees and the garden centre will have said, this is a nice one, and it doesnt grow very big at all.
  18. Allow me to introduce SPIKE. Females (Canine and Human) absolutely adore him, and he ain't shy.

    1 pic each.

    Bye bye Old Mr Oak.
  20. 2 are toys, 1 is a dream, place your bets now please.
  21. I hope its TPO'd, should be a national treasure that.
  22. So many things we do on a day to day basis without thinking, then when you see them wrote down, it makes you realise you were never taught that. My favourite was flicking stubs etc with your bar just as you get right through them.
  23. Does anyone else change their climbing system depending on the job? I.e, blakes for conifer bashing, v.t for widespread ash etc. I have 3 climbing ropes with 3 different systems in the bags. Makes for even more varied work days. And keeps me concentrating.
