  1. thanks for the replies folks! nice set up Bob , would be a bit slow to do 80 mile trip on the road though? keep it coming all it is all being noted
  2. signed sealled and delivered, never have to much rope!!! and lightning dosn`t strick twice.does it?
  3. lack of compression, your ring has gone LOL bin it and get a new one , i think kelloggs are putting them in cornflake packets next week!
  4. I would like to stay in Hampshire when turning round!!!!! they havn`t made them for years have they? thanks for the replies folks at the moment it is all about coming up with ideas to make it cost effective, bit like an embryo in a test tube. still interested in makes for the attachments i.e crane, mulcher? I think i would go for a Spearhead flail , used one for years and strong pieces of kit.
  5. ohh cheers Ed , i think it will be a few months before we will be buying and then i think it will be leased. Have you any dealings with fastracs in arb? and is my idea of running one unit going to work or will it be to much of a compromise between applications?
  6. yea see your point Jim, didn`t think if it that way. But i don`t think you can substitute extra power by a bigger turbo in the same way as an engine set up to run at that power. I may be wrong but i think you can over turbo a diesel engine and never get that much more out of it .
  7. if you have a 130 hp vehicle and wind it up to 150 hp all components are under alot more stress than what they were set up for. In my opinion if you need 150 hp buy 150hp Increased stress loads on units will wear alot quicker . I know most of the gear boxes and axles are standard through the mid range units but often i have seen and heard of wound up vehicles failing. Over heating becomes a big problem and you spend more time keeping the rad clean than working.
  8. yea but that in it`s self will cause more problems
  9. my other concern with that size is would it have enough power to run mulchers and the like. the rest of the kit would be fine maybe a big chipper would make it grunt a bit. i think you need 150+ for what it`s needed for
  10. we had a 1135 4ws on a sprayer demounted on the bed it was well good but only about 35mph on road. not sure about the PTO load problem as good as the ret i would guess.
  11. for those of you slightly less fortunate than some others send me lots of ££££ and i might sell it!!!!!!LOL only joking thanks for another entertaining comp steve, look forward to trying it out.
  12. been around them since they come out and have been ok for agri use just not sure on the rough going in arb
  13. how fast is the fendt mate? i think the big jcb will still do 40 mph like a mog but not seen many in arb yet
  14. Right thinking of putting a plan togeather for a utility arb vehicle to flail, mulch and even chip! It needs to either be 40kph+ or a lorry move covering around 100 miles from home. I am thinking on one power unit and attach what is needed , but also a grab/hiab would be well handy so i am thinking D-mount for the hiab/crane. first what unit Unimog? Fendt? or Fastrac? what sort of crane make model? chipper make model? mulcher make model? i think i would go for a spearhead flail as i had one for 10 years and no problems to speak of absolutly brilliant well made flails. This vehicle would be used for utilty work all the time . any info would be most apreciated
  15. If you would be so kind SIR BULLMAN ! to place my name in the hat on pink paper so you know which one to pull out:sneaky2: cheers steve
  16. fair play Dean I have the same view Got a feeling we have maried the same woman! my good lady would have reacted in the same way . But if it was for her horse or something she needed for £70 it would be o.k? Females for ya:confused1:
  17. Don`t forget to wash the brushes after all that painting top job:001_cool:
  18. They make enough money out of people to busy to both with DIY websites, wish i could get people to pay me £200 to build a site , i could easy set up a 3 or 4 pages in half a day
  19. I have built my own web site and pblished it to the web for £7 for 3 years! It takes a bit of finding but i found a site where there was free hosting, i think they charge a bit now and only paid the £7 for the domain name. There are loads of great web building downloads out there just be carefull not to get tied into one`s who host the site for you as well this gets expensive and very narrow on what you can do. The best web creation tool i have found is http://www.ewisoft.com/ free and it is as easy as posting on here. this is what i have done over the past year, yes it does need updating but i spend to much time on chat forums to do it!! http://www.wallopgrowmore.co.uk/p1.htm
  20. never go for a throw more than 3 times !! After 3 attempts change something i.e your position, the bundle or what your throwing at.
  21. Mig welders are excelent for what they are ment for and that is thin steel(tin), alot quicker because you have no cleaning of welds , but the down side is the metal being welded needs to be clean and rust free otherwise forget it. If you already have a stick welder then get a mig, I have only ever seen tig welding done on Aluminum so can`t comment on that one. Make sure as others have said that the mig uses gas and argon is the best. If you want to play then get the gas out , a nice way to weld but i find it time consuming but i havn`t done much of it. We have all three and i will go to the mig first 90% of the time.

Works well , just been in there chatting to jim and it is spot on . No loading of extra software and replies come up quick good stuff will be using more often
  23. Got offered one last summer , it was shut in a garden 24/7, owner couldn`t work out why when he did take it for a walk he let it off and it ran and ran and ran took him 5 hours to find it and get it back!!!! this poor dog was running full chat round thier garden basically in distress if it couldn`t find it`s ball! my friend took it on but hasn`t had much luck in trying to get it back, it chased and killed a dear on her farm!!!!! She has 5 springers all working and knows what shes doing but to late for this one i think!
  24. Dean , that is exactlly why i put springer spaniels in the list to avoid for a FIRST TIME dog owner. I to own a springer spaniel and also have her trained to a high standard but it has taken alot of time and hard work to achieve this and also all my knowledge of owning dogs for 20 years. I have seen way to many dam good springers go gaa gaa in the head by untrained owners not having a clue what to do with them!!!
  25. As for breeds for a first timer I would sugest a lab/ retriever or maybe a cocker spaniel i have never really had any dealings with terriers so i will pass on them. Breeds to avoid Collies, Springer Spaniels, German Shepherds, rotwielers, Dobermans, Lurchers, greyhounds, whippits. I am sure many will shoot me down for the avoid list but for a first time dog i wouldn`t sugest any of these. Try to find a simple breed or even a mongrel. As for Puppy or rescue well i will let someone else put comments on this. Don`t forget most villages or towns have Dog clubs and they are excellent ways of learning the trainning side .
