  3. Well ive put my Husky 3120 XP on fleabay:thumbdown: Im just not useing it so it has to go.Husqvarna 3120 XP chainsaw uses stihl oil on eBay (end time 01-Mar-10 20:27:45 GMT)
  4. Im thinking of selling my Palax KS 35 Ergo. Shes 3/4 months old. Im going into wood shavings/pelleting so its going to be surplus to requirements. As far as condition goes its like new (been in its own shed). I paid £8000ish +vat.Im open to offers im vat registerd so it will be plus vat
  5. Id say the 17th log 3rd row from the bottom could with pushing in about 1" Very neat mate:thumbup1:
  6. My brother did the exact same thing with our old bobcat but our went over on its front!! If he hadent had the seat belt on he would of been poo mountain with a mouth full of gravel:lol: So its not just me thats noticed the size of cord going up.
  7. Best of luck with your new job you will love it!!
  8. I know what you mean about the wholesale part. But all the machinery has been payed for through wood. The big ford gets used for contracting as well.We had a bobcat for a while but found it to unstable and it didnt have the reach to get cord off the top of the pile. Our old Palax was 10 years old and had done a lot of work and we strugled with the 12" throat. When we traded it in we got the same as what we payed for it (we ran it for two years). We have a log deck that we made out of old RSJs. The good part of doing to trade is guarenteed work, no wingeing punters ,no backing up tight drives, no handballing,no grany logs, no evening deliverys, no people saying can you just stack them here!!,And No people saying the barks peeling off and its left crums on me drive. I still do a lot of straight to customer although i think ive just talked my self out of it now:lol: On the down side im flat out all the time hense all the machinery.
  9. The sucker blower is a single phase standard workshop blower but we made the sawdust bag collector ourselfs in about an hour. It consists of a 5 gallon paint tin a hesian sack and a length of drain pipe with a 90 degree bend and two inertubes. proper boge job but it works a treat :laugh1:Ill take sump pics of it tomorrow.
  10. Happen i should dig a big hole a bury it:lol:
  11. how many ton do you want? If i get £2.75 a bag id be happy
  12. But dont they want it dust extrcated and about 0.0001% moisture?
  13. I thought about pet shops but its not dust extracted:confused1: we have a 200 ton press at work but its getting time to experiment to make a briquette press. Weve had a bit of a go and it was quite promising. You can buy spunk-a-matick pellet mills from china but what there like i dont know?
  14. Our Palax is set at 9" seems to suit most fires
  15. We have now started to bag our shavings/sawdust as soon as it comes out the back of the Palax it gets blown into bags and its then sealed. But what the rudy hell do with 8ish tons of sawdust?
  16. A few pics of our kit. Told you it didnt include breakdowns (Ford 8830 new engine to be fitted)
  17. The digger has got a timber grab on it. Ive been doing logs for a good few years but my old Palax was on its last legs. my old digger (Hymac) was getting past it. My transit wanted to much money spending on it and i use my tractor for contracting. I do nearly 30 bulk bags a day some days (trade) Most of my work is to trade and i cant let them down so i either go balls out or nowt. We will soon make it back.
  18. Since the 29/7/09 up till now ive sold £10745 of logs. This is 5 days a week from 8:30 am till 5:30pm. I only sell soft wood logs. Ive had to buy (this year) One Palax KS35 £7500ish One 13 ton Samsung digger £7000ish .To deliver logs One LDV tipper £1400ish One Ford 8830 tractor (gets used for other things as well) £11000ish. This isnt taking into account fuel and break downs. I THINK I MAY CRY:lol:
  19. I normally run on 1000rpm pto but our john deere is 540rpm only:thumbdown:
  20. A John deere 2030 at the min but its normally my Ford 8830 200hp (bit exsessive for the Palax) but its spat its dummy out at the min the engine is in bits at the min. The john deere is not to bad on diesel its the digger that sups it!!!
  21. On the downside im useing £160 worth of red diesel a week feeding our Palax tractor and 13 ton grab digger:thumbdown:
  22. Im shifting 26Ton a week (ish). And it dont look like its going to slow down yet!!
  23. We have Palax KS35 bought it new this season. So far so good but the chain saw makes tons of bloody sawdust!!!! On the other hand we are now selling wood shavings to the local horsey people:thumbup: 26 Tons of timber when sawn up for logs fills our 6ton grain trailer full!! Our old Palax 600 combie (circular saw) model would maybe fill 4/5 bulk bags from 26 ton.
  24. My palax has a chainsaw bar in it and it dont like dirty timber. My old Palax had a carbide tipped circular saw blade in it and it lasted ages so i thought it may be the same with a carbide chain?
  25. Can you get carbide tipped chain? And if you can where can i get it from? Is it any good how do you sharpen it. any answers greatly appreciated.
