  2. ive thought about getting in contact with him too! if he's up for it i have an 046 back home in need of a rebuild, thinking hand it/send it to him when im back for justins, then collect it at the apf what did he say about doing youre husky? oh oh and just an exhaust for my 880. . . and 660 . . . and . .
  3. from masterblasters website, this is one cool as thread! standard ms460 vs standard ms880, then they get modified:biggrin: good pics and awesome videos, especially when you see the diffrence modding a saw can make. 460 vs 880 cage match - The #1 HARDCORE arborist forum, bar, and grill - Enjoy the buffet and libations! hope you dont mind MB!
  4. a man of many tallents:biggrin: haha yeah, youre myu inspiration mark:thumbup: got a vid from last year of felling 3 50ft pines into each other, but cant upload it:thumbdown: unfortunatly thinking outside of the box got us in a bit of bother today, nocking out a days work, 3 jobs by 10am . . . unbeknown to us, the clients were paying by the hour!
  5. messing about with felling this small oak, twin stem, one stem weighted too much to pull over against lean by hand (bank+house below) so stropped the 2 together, with slack, felled the stem weighted in the right direction, then back felled the other stem, weight of the 1st stem pulling the 2nd over:001_smile: now i want to find a twin stemmed hundred footer:001_tongue: then a video of felling a small rowan into another . . .no reason, just for fun Josh Gerald Philpotts | Facebook
  6. 13 . . . . . . million
  7. details?? where when ect:biggrin:
  8. sounded like a sensible question to me too. . . if a quote took half a day, youd add ÿoure time onto the job, so why not add a few quid to cover time and expense at the end of a job? with the option of a bank transfer, id tell the customer - with a bank transfer, monies recieved within 5 working days it will be £50 (eg) if i have to come and collect in 2 weeks time, i will need to factor in the extra time i spend collecting money, when i could be earning, so it will be £60. they have the choice then, buisness is not a charity and time is money p.s just ignore woodpicker, most of us do anyway
  9. need a new harness, so decided to try a tree motion out, went for a play today with the bosses one
  10. Im sold! just been out to try one, as comfy as the tree magic, so why not even tried footlocking, but it just wasnt gonna happen for fat boy
  11. i had the original one complete with bridge problems, still got it back in the uk, that was ok actually, but ordering a harness tommorrow! just seen this on the tree motion:scared1: dont think even peter has this much junk:lol: just gonna have lunch, then off for a climb, hows best to wear the tm? i like to wear harnesses below the top of my hips, not on my lower back
  12. cool, well wills tm is in the van, so i might go have a play in the oaks outside in a bit, mess up his adjustments for him i did wonder if you used the metal ring on the caritool, our boss uses the caritool to hold the handle of a topper, but then he is 3ft nothing!
  13. interesting, never used the caritools before, just a tool strop with metal ring, whats the caritools like for holding felling saws-660/880? looks like a saw would be bashing youre arse on caritools??? do you need a longer tool strop to account for the attatchment point being further away if stretching foward?
  14. football is a gentlemans game, played by thugs rugby is a thugs game played by gentleman
  15. i know alot of people rave about the treemotion, the guys i work with have the treemotion, but i think the tool loops look too flimsy, one guy clips saws on the side where i do, and its already looking like it will fail after 6months and theres no way im clipping my saw on the red loop behind myself! they look like a great pruning harness but i just dont think it would last . . . i will look again at the sequoia stevie, dan recommended it too.. in fairness to the treemagic, its lasted nearly 3 years of constant use, and i know its comfy for me
  16. Knowledge???? try the search function
  17. nice work pictures aswell!
  18. Cheers bobby:blushing: DO IT!!! i lost my 4th school mate in december, and realised there isnt 'all the time in the world' now i think 'if i were on my death bed, would i want to regret the things ive done, or regret the things i havent done?' for me it will be the things i havent done:001_smile: everyone MAKES their own luck, its not handed on a plate:001_smile:

Alcholic Arborist a place to get legless, have pointless topics of conversation, where groundies sit outside and wait for their super hero climbers, and beer is cheap to allow for the low wages:001_tongue:

  23. thanks for taking my comment on board paul, actually means alot. i'll give you a pm over the next few days as i have some thoughts
  24. i have always felt cut off from the aa, and felt this at last years show, a them and us atmosphere, them being the aa members doing the lectures and seminars, us being me, just an ordinary tree worker, is there a way of the aa targeting us 'ordinary' tree workers?
