  5. Spending money on things that look pretty, but are not particularly useful!! Story of my life mate! Back to topic- maybe you could sell it to Mr Broadsword? Happy days all round!
  6. Dean that sounds a bit complicated for you!? I see what you mean though, like a one way pulley rig system thing. I guess that is what it is designed to do so it should be ok. The gri gri can be used like that too, and there are rigging pulleys with built in cams for the same purpose. I personally have never had a problem with sections swinging back towards me, I slow them down when they go away from me if necessary and that means they have no energy left to come back again. Plus we use the grcs a lot to take in rope as thigns start to go or to lower quickly to avoid swings. Not actully used a traxion for owt!
  7. Yeah, I got confused by "progress capture"! Is that like controlling the swing as peices get lowered??
  8. Hi X. Welcome, I've switched sides these days, I miss TB though but havn't got time for both.
  9. Doesn't gasles mig require a special copper wire which is mor expensive etc? A small stick welder is better than a small cheap mig IMO but I am no expert, in fact I own neither so I'll keep out of it. Thanks.......

    E bay troubles

I tried IE but same problem and firefox worked last week. Buzz do you mean "Timba"? I wouldn't have called my dog after a bit of wood, that would be silly!

    E bay troubles

Yes it will fit MTB wheels but is noisy with off road tyres on it. I have actually got that on e bay now and it has 25 watchers, these things have been selling on e bay for silly money due to the change in the weather, everyone thinks they will actually use it! I can't get anythin else to load up though.

    E bay troubles

I've sussed out that anything you buy on a "whim" will sell really well on e bay cos someone will be having the same whim!!! Turbo trainer for indoor cycling anyone???????? I'll keep trying. Thanks
  15. As I'm off for a few days I've been tryign to sell some rubbish on e abay. I put some stuff up at the weekend and that was fine. Now I can't get pictures to load! I got to the sell section and use the uploader for pics but it just won't do it. I don't get any errot messages, it just says uploading........I left it overnight and this morning its still "uploading" ANyone else found any problems? Maybe someone could experiment and try uploadign some pics to ebay and see if it works. Thanks.
  16. This is all you need..........
  17. Sure, yes I see what you mean. For a working climber it is a vital tool, so I guess it might as well be practiced form day one along with advancing in the tree.
  18. Do you not think that basic advancing in the tree should be mastered before getting dependant on throwlines? Maybe I'm biased, I climbed for 7-8 years or so before I ever got a throwline. Now I'm quite good with the throwline so I reckon I have the best of both worlds.

    leaves

Leaves (or is it leafs?) shouldn't be classed as a nuisance in any sense. They are a natural occurance and no difference to the dog malting, the carpet getting dirty, the bins needign emptying then fence painting etc etc. Did anyone hear radio 2 today about leaf blowers and the apparent noise disturbancee they cause?
  20. They'll only collect if your are close or on their "round". I don't think they do Devon.
  21. The reason I ask is that I think the geckos that i used don't seem to put pressure on my arches at all. I have rubbish soft soled chainsaw boots that are comfy. The pressure from the spikes seems to go into the calf area via the velcro pad. I understand that if you can't fit the geckos then thats no help at all, but maybe different spikes would help? I can wear spikes all day long and not notice any problems in my arches whereas I definatly used to with my old buckinghams but they had the crappy leather straps not the velcro wraps.
  22. What spikes do you use Tim? I have the worst tree boots in the world and they are fine with my spikes.
  23. A small micro crab? A larger krab will do for now and it will also add weight, watch out for it hittign you in the face! Where did you get a throwbag from so quick?
  24. Yes, no worries. Throwing knot and/or throwbag on the end of the rope are good techniques that require practice. Good luck.
