  1. Maybe your right. Or maybe they just re did the risk assessment and decided that it was too risky to teach because someone might forget how to do it, and pre sewn are someone elses worry?? If I employed numpties I would be tempted to only allow pre-sewn stuff.
  2. Its fine for any college or company to insist on pre sewn CE marked loops. Doesn't mean anyone else has to use them. Look at the CE climb system thingy, it even comes with the hitch already tied on to the rope, and some companies may insist on using this only if they wanted to.
  3. A dollar NZ is only like 40p bro!
  4. It should be said at this point though that a decent cambium saver is essential to get the benefit. A pulley on a krab on standard cambium saver will do but a ropeguid or homemade equivelent would be bettererer still. Its a whole new sytem and unsurprisingly it can get expensive very quickly, if you master it you'll be after a new harness soon etc etc. Am I being gloomy tonight!!!!!!!!????? Sorry, bu tmy local is full to overflowing with race goers so I'm stuck at home!
  5. I don't think the type of pulley makes any difference, the old swing cheek pulley or petzl fixe will work just as well, its the knot that is important. The Hitchclimber pulley is just more versatile thats all, and has many applications.
  6. Would you have climbed it Tim? Did anyone test climb this tree before you quoted for the MEWP or did you decide on the MEWP straight away? I definatly would have gone up to see what it felt like, and then planned the work method from there.
  7. I'd be more interested in the groundie!!!!!
  8. I'd have left it too!! (not if I was the original company)
  9. Whats the big lump of wood for?
  10. Perfect. I could never believe the cost of those gaurds you can buy now! We used to have 2 sheets of ply hinged in the middle, now I just use a plastic pedestrian barrier with a tarp thrown over it.

  16. Spending money on things that look pretty, but are not particularly useful!! Story of my life mate! Back to topic- maybe you could sell it to Mr Broadsword? Happy days all round!
  17. Dean that sounds a bit complicated for you!? I see what you mean though, like a one way pulley rig system thing. I guess that is what it is designed to do so it should be ok. The gri gri can be used like that too, and there are rigging pulleys with built in cams for the same purpose. I personally have never had a problem with sections swinging back towards me, I slow them down when they go away from me if necessary and that means they have no energy left to come back again. Plus we use the grcs a lot to take in rope as thigns start to go or to lower quickly to avoid swings. Not actully used a traxion for owt!
  18. Yeah, I got confused by "progress capture"! Is that like controlling the swing as peices get lowered??
  19. Hi X. Welcome, I've switched sides these days, I miss TB though but havn't got time for both.
  20. Doesn't gasles mig require a special copper wire which is mor expensive etc? A small stick welder is better than a small cheap mig IMO but I am no expert, in fact I own neither so I'll keep out of it. Thanks.......

Yes it will fit MTB wheels but is noisy with off road tyres on it. I have actually got that on e bay now and it has 25 watchers, these things have been selling on e bay for silly money due to the change in the weather, everyone thinks they will actually use it! I can't get anythin else to load up though.
