  1. i have a 346 and love it but i couldnt honestly tell much difference between it and a 550, that said if i was offered a choice of either new id go 346. i would echo luxs comments on newer build, i bought a small husky strimmer on the back of my old one doing me well, the new one feels terrible, so much plastic, i wouldnt be surprised if the engine was some sort of plastic, now it strims ok but the revs and power is very odd compared to other strimmers i have used. now the 254 i have has some metal in it! and cuts great for a bit then plays up and goes back in the van, still for its age it cuts well.
  2. pretty windy here now, worse up north, gone to a red warning!!
  3. just curious why you find a 346xp better than a 550?
  4. thats were SRT is good , tie into enough dubious anchors and it becomes a good anchor.......i think?!!!
  5. failing that, the failing that the rope runner pro is a good alternative imo
  6. well i tried it this evening and it started and ran perfectly! but ive not had many things fix themselves so i shall try your ideas if i need too. thanks carl
  7. well i fitted a carb kit and gave it blow out, not really that up on carbs though. it still isnt right though, it runs for a couple of seconds with the choke on then flick choke off and it runs for a few seconds, after about 5min of this carry on and a load of primer bulb pushing it seems to run and function as normal!! any ideas. thanks carl
  8. two types of music in my world..... music i like and music i don't.! that's why i love music, no right or wrong.
  9. anyone else think petzl have poor quality control?? the zig zag saga!!! there was a safety alert for full body harnesses recently too. personally i prefer solid rings where possible.
  10. a cheap harness!
  11. well i took it all apart, probably ragged up the gaskets and as usual i didnt really know what i was looking for, so iam thinking carb kit or whole new carb, they dont seem to expensive so is it easier to just fit a whole new carb? thanks carl
  12. shhsssh guys or you will get johnsond going again!!!!
  13. thanks guys il have to get the compressor going and clean and take off the carb.
  14. it starts idles but wont rev up, it will if you almost close the choke. it was running fine when i last used it but it does sit around a bit, the spark plug looked normal enough. any suggestions ? thanks carl
  15. do whips really need shelters? a lot of extra money and labour. i have found even in mega bramble the trees do ok really, we often clear around them with a strimmer but i often wonder if it does more harm than good if you know what i mean. i guess if rabbits are a problem then one would have to protect the trees.
  16. cheese generally gets stronger with age !!
  17. bit awkward to wrap up as a christmas present though!!!
  18. any good books on small scale milling? thanks carl
  19. what a fussy bunch!!!!! its the thought that counts.
  20. we put a free hanging grab on a small hire machine, whilst it was great i did find the fact you couldnt nudge anything a bit of a pain at times, which made me wonder if those fixed grabs that use the thumb style fixing may have been more versatile but those obviously need a bracket welding on the arm so not an option on a hire machine.
