  1. I agree almost completely. I have sympathy as the government recruits from specific social groups. Groups with limited opportunities, who find the macho recruitment films seductive. I think some young people are too easily persuaded as to the definition of patriotism. Thank Christ (he he) we are a secular society, or we'd all be there as well.
  2. I thought it was sarcasm. What! A gay cowboy? I thought that was why the village people included one. No tree surgeons in the vilage people I notice
  3. Somewhat a contradiction in philosophy. Am I alone in counting all the deaths on all sides of such conflicts as the reason for reflection, silence or respect. The war in Iraq has claimed nearly 1 million lives. Most of those are civilian lives. I support all combatants, for there are many reasons why people find themselves in the theatre of war. Some do it for God, country and some actually get paid. Many would say that the conflicts this country is fighting are about Oil. The war would be futile if we were less dependent on the black gold. I like to think that driving my little car hasn't contributed to the reason why British troops are being shot and blown up on foreign soil. Just one of the reasons why driving the BMW X5 et al is not a patriotic act. If we want to help our ex service men, then we should take it seriously and put pressure on our MPs to not send them in the first place and more importantly don't treat them so appallingly on their return. You'd be surprised how many homeless folk are ex servicemen. That's why i give money to beggars and don't observe the mins silence. I actually want to make a difference. I want to show real respect in a real and practical way. OOOh! Sorry bit of a soap box moment. I wore my poppy for all.
  4. is there a security breach on the 5th deck? I knew this once but it's gone from my Homer Simpson like mind long ago. Point being the saw runs quite alot faster than 20/24 ms.
  5. 10,000 trees is pathetic. I've planted more myself. Why should we be surprised by this, seeing as the man in question is a buffoon. I went to the dome when it was a homless hostel. Completely empty. Fish on ice. was it sponsored by birds eye?
  6. Hey I'm bringing this up again because it was a good post then and still is. Proper food for thought. I have near non existent faith in Chainsaw blocking products. I've cut through boots and trousers as if they weren't there. Anyone know the running speed of a chain on an MS200T? Please don't quote (NxTxZ)/30. Like Stihl did. You'd think they of all people would know. They don't.
  7. Seems like the best solution. More expensive than plugs, but as Dean points out not hearing fire alarm could be tragic.
  8. It's the second one for me. Brilliant landscape shot, looks like a painting.
  9. Sorry, well done Andy great picture.
  10. My first belly laugh of the evening. that and your Avatar pic combination is startling.
  11. not the actual cars. My father force fed me 70's road movies, Two lane black top and Dirty Mary Crazy Larry etc. My fave cars and fave movie period.
  12. No No. I'll back off from that minor derailment.
  13. "Lottery wish list" sounds like an interesting thread idea. I think car design peaked with shape sometime ago in the States. Cool as.
  14. Excellent picture by the way Nick. have you shown it before?
  15. could it be Jerry Beranek?
  16. Jesus was a carpenter.OOO.
  17. Al wasn't a fan of state intervention and the quote contradicts my posts. There in lies the complexity of chaos. Well spotted by the way. are you an occasional occultist?
