  1. My red rock weighs about 4 ton, used to pull that with a 95hp 6400. I think you’ll be fine. Once loaded you might slow down a bit though..
  2. Only joking.. I'll take anything I can get.. I'm desperate... and as the years advance my modelling career is on the wane.
  3. What!!! I'm withdrawing my images, like Naomi Cambell I don't get out of bed for less than a 201T.
  4. Stupid spec, topped pops always go rotten, and really quickly. One day there will be a court case where damage was caused by a topped tree failure.. and whoever specked it will be held liable.. I’ve seen topped pops rotten to the base within 10 years.
  5. Got our wee machine plumbed and wired up last week. I think she’ll be handy.
  6. I have them, they are really good, take a wee bit of getting used to after the valve ones. Mine have been on the crane since it was fitted. My old crane had valve controls. I wouldn’t go back.
  7. Scum. Ask all the dealers to check when someone orders a chute.
  8. Ooof that must include the pressure assist though?
  9. Ac price built one on to my Heizohack, I have control over feed / reverse, top roller lift / push down, rotate discharge chute, tilt deflector on discharge chute, and an on off switch. Its is very handy, but I dread to think what I paid for it. @John Shutler might know, as I think he was pricing it up for his machine.
  10. My 12" bandit is available to hire, £350 per week..
  11. A couple of videos we had made to show our habitat creation work. Sorry about the musak...
  12. Yep, he tried to claw himself out on a dead tree.... glad and it wasn’t my job!
  13. I rescued these two diggers last week, had to get the 5 tonner out to make a bed for the log mat to rescue the 13 tonner. It took both my winches and 2 snatch blocks to get it out. 20 ton combined pull.

    Our new promo.

Yep I was in the orange vest. Andrew was climbing.

    Our new promo.

Don’t know, the production company sourced it.
  16. Could have been, I don’t remember them being octagonal.. but they might have been..
  17. There’s a company importing proper creosoted posts from Sweden, I saw them at the highland show a couple of years ago , can’t remember the name. It’s the real deal, it was Health and safety that shut down all our creosote plants but this Swedish one is state of the art apparently and uses the proper old school stuff. Boiled and pressure treated. Those old posts can last 50 years +
  18. Bump! Its just as relevant today as it was 5 years ago...
  19. I don’t have a contact but quite often Scottish Power will do them for free if they feel they are close to the lines.
  20. Thought I’d revive this old classic with some serious coney topping, 40yd skip and the heizo is the way to go on these jobs..
  21. I have had 9 saws ported by Spud, all of them cut much better than they did before. The differences before and after vary, but they were all noticeably better. And by noticeably I mean well worth getting the porting done. The best results seem to come from the husky’s, the 254 being the most noticeable improvement, but the ported 357’s are awesome, they beat a 560 in performance and are lovely to use. I just got a 346 ported too, that’s a great little thing...
  22. Cranes can be lolered for lifting (like rigging kit) or personnel (like climbing kit) the crane that we usually hire in is lolered for personnel as it is owned by a steel errection company and they have a man basket that they use on it. I have ridden the hook on this crane. FWIW it’s a 60 tonner and costs about £500 for the day.. bargain!
