  1. I wonder if a bulk blower wagon could collect the chip & blow it in for you
  2. If you're using a saw at the moment concentrate on using the chainbrake before you move and keep the saw out of your bodyline. Don't forget to put down the visor & muffs. Enjoy it and it'll be fine, they all do want you to pass.
  3. He should be charged with arson when he burns his own churches down too (or she)
  4. Looks like the sat nav wants rebooting ;-)
  5. Starting with a stick welder (MMA, manual metal arc) makes a lot of sense to me. You can use any old scrap to learn on and if you don't control the arc it will let you know by the slag inclusions. Once you've learnt to watch and manipulate the weld pool then try a MIG (metal inert gas, or more accurately MAG , metal active gas also GMAW) . That will teach a good lesson in cleanliness of materials and keeping things dry, which will feed back into stick which also prefers things clean & dry. That should set you up with the skills to weld most of the items you are likely to come across.
  6. In the perfect world they'd be compared on near identical chains and also on the most up to date chain from the respective manufacturer
  7. 200 litres an hour sounds a lot if you ignore the fact that it's keeping out 70,000,000 litres of water
  8. Pulling through a snatch block is good in that scenario, the block anchor could have been biased into the wind and the driver could have maintained a good view of the chainsaw operator ;-)
  9. Telescopic ladder and wire core for re-pollarding waterside willows
  10. Fascinating , arbtalk is a splendid learning resource
  11. You could apply to erect a large steel frame to protect your clients property. The listed building consent would get the planning department twitchy
  12. A rock hook would the best bet. I've got a pecker for my machine , but often find in layered stone that an electric breaker is quicker :-D
  13. Nice one, I'll be borrowing that
  14. Auto box is perfect for a work landrover in my experience. I run a big diesel that used to eat clutches, gearboxes & uj's , fitted a ZF auto hp 22 from a range rover 3.9 . Not had a transmission problem in years :-D . Would be interesting to try a later hp24 and use an electronic controller from Ashcrofts. Most serious off road heavy vehicles are auto ;-)
  15. Too true 3.9 Isuzu on a zf hp22 here, the reliability offsets the fuel cost
  16. If I was closer I'd be banging on your door to put those tyres on just for the pleasure of it
  17. Stonehealth in Dursley are the people to speak to. I use their paint softener and it is good stuff
  18. Wondering which of the Avons it's sitting at the bottom of , would make a cheap work boat 😉. And as pointed out not too difficult to re float ...... despite the hash made of similar jobs by the experts 😂
  19. You could take it to a tyre repair specialist, the sort that do major repairs on tractor tyres
  20. I've been trying to break a Facom t bar for nearly thirty years so my opinion is a bit out of date
  21. Diamond sharpening thingy from Screw fix ...... £2.99 ☺
  22. worst thing I find with the echos is that the factory bars are so hard they are near impossible to dress with a file, I have to use a grinder at home to dress em, but being that hard its rare to have to dress them I've been dressing my Sugihara with a £2.99 diamond sharpener from screwfix
