if hse went by the book no i would never pass, a few weeks back i got stop because i was on the lorry roof trying to get a hanger out , but there was another firm just two door up and there climber was up a oak with no helmet plus the grounds men and the hse look at them but didnt notice

many years ago the german health and safety stop a german national to climb trees ie tree surgery. you could earn really well out there because the massive shortage of climbers dur to there own arborist was stop from climbing

just remember everytime there a serious accident or death theres another nail in the climbers coffin, regards hse serious accidents and deaths in tree surgery or forrestry is away in the top 5, why do you think all these large companys and buying mewps by the bucket load it is because they know that its the way forward for the future. couple of councils have insist in the new contracts that work on street trees has to be done by mewps

just look what happen in germany i think we will go the same way or hse will make it so expensive ie mewps and scaffold it will push most small business out

i been a climber now for almost 35 years when i first start everyone use to free climb and on a hot summers day we just wear a pair of shorts, over the years i have seem massive changes some for the better and some not, but it seem that slowly we are heading towards mewp work eg. do you wonder what the future holds for climbers it would be such a shame a skill to disappear b for ever because of health and safety rules

the f47 fd has the same specs as the f50 fd the only difference is the the f47 is 9.0 million pixel resolution and f50 fd is 10 million pixel but if you look a the pics from both a untrain eye you wouldnt notice the difference but there a difference in price about £40 i belive the f100 fd is 12 million pixels but there been lot of complaints that this camera show ghost in indoor or night shots

a Fuji Finepix f47 fd is a great compact camera for around £120 with great results. abit of advice keep out of dixons, currys, and jessop they just rip you off theres many online sites wereyou can get the same cameras lot cheaper

lucky enough to work for a large company that has 12 years work infront of them pick up a very good wage and dont have the worries of finding working

the law is a ass few years back i caught 2 blokes trying to steal our lorry and chipper i drag one of them out of the cab and i was stab but i manage to give them a good hidding, only to get nick myself for use to much force was fined joke

that the one i was speaking to a few ex birmingham authority blokes who know the tree officer invovle and he been warrant with manslughter . but i also heard it through quite a few other local authority tree officer aswel it has coarse great alarm with them in there field of work but i shall ask again this week and see if i can get more information

i wonder is any these protesters would like to take on the Resonability of this tree and let them have all Resonabilitys ie fighting with you insurance or face any man slaughter charges if it come down at anytime and killed or injure anyone

the day it takes me 20 minutes to sharpen a 30 inch chain is the day i give up after 35 plus years of doing it. and it works the other way to with the customers see you do have knock backs keep hitting nails and fenceing that been nail to the tree, they can see there getting there value for money everytime you sharpen because there trees have nails eg in it

my view is if you havent got the time or energy to sharpen your saw with a file it time to call it a day

i think a machine is a waste off money to sharpen a 066 would only take a few minutes

been climbing for 30 plus years the last yew years i have used mewps on a regular basis, can reduce tree alot lighter and quicker and safer. and dont get knacked at the end of the day. mewps have more good points than bad

i had a few drinks the other night with a couple of old mates, both used to be climbers with about 35 years between them. now days they both are Lecturers for two well known colleges that teaches new arborist. i ask them do you come across any new climbers that show signs to making a great climber in the furture, both said most are unemployable after finnishing there course. what your thoughts on this
