  1. There's always the distinct possibility he's got better things to do than babysit? Jomoco
  2. You'd be surprised at just how much the telephone companies will pay to keep their big thick trunkline's intact. Cuttin n stringin new voltage lines is no big deal, but telephone trunk lines are another story entirely! Did another midnight emergency call to get a big blown over euc off a power/trunkline span. Power company had pole setter crane at both ends supportin the poles n keepin them from snappin. So I go up the neighboring intact euc still standing, tie in about a hundred feet up, come down, run out the trunk of the downed tree, out beyond the trapped lines, and slowly relieve weight until just the trunk was about four feet past the trapped lines. Then I threw the tail of my climb line over the trapped power cable n phone lines as well, instructing my groundie to leave bout twenty feet of slack in it, then tying it off to a tree across the ravine. Then I had the groundie throw a bull line over all the utility lines about fifteen feet down line, tie a running bowline snug it up tight, and tie it off to a series of small trees directly below the utility lines. One more cut to the trunk, and it'd fall free from the lines n hit the ground, as the trapped lines rose, tearing the small trees out of the ground roots n all, lifting the tail of my rope violently, tossing me skywards like a bungee jumper, three times I hit zero G with its accompanying belly button tingle, before coming to rest, the groundie untying my tail, and gently lowering safely to the COG below my tie in. It was quite a show, and I got lots of hearty applause the utility crews and countless supervisors on both sides of the span. Jomoco
  3. The old n new testament's beat the same theme to death, that natural man's rule, alone without his maker's guidance n knowledge, invariably ends badly. Almost as annoying and patronizing as Ayn Rand's most famous fictional novel, but not quite. I'm very partial to Nietzsche's super man, some day supplanting the bible's evil natural man, meself. Jomoco
  4. Good stuff Timon, excellent even. Keep your powder dry, and your mind open. Jomoco
  5. I ain't gonna tear mine apart to find out, but my first one which did get pretty well shredded had lightweight very high density foam panels. Probably available at a fabrics store. Pro bull riding vests cost up to 4 bills here, I get the cheapo 3 piece Velcro ones for 2. Jomoco
  6. Maybe Trump being elected's god's exclamation point on how flawed n effed up manly rule can get? Never ending war on credit's the order of the day it seems. Jomoco
  7. Can't put up with any apparel without covered pockets, which is why I wear Madsen's Hickory shirts at work. I do wear a 3 piece bull riding vest when I'm negative rigging big stuff with a Hobbs though. Kinda pricey but has saved me from broken ribs more than once, making it well worth the coin. Jomoco
  8. I guess the point I'm driving at is that women have historically always gotten the short end of the stick, to no gain, and to our own embarrassment, and further estrangement from any just and good higher entity. Blame her, blame the snake Anyone but me for heaven's sake This is where Buddhism really shines with balance in life, yin n yang, moderation in all things. I guess I'm tryin to make a case for science n higher entities not necessarily being mutually exclusive. Balanced wheels get further, faster n smoother sorta thing. Jomoco
  9. Thomas Aquinas n JP2 both came to the same conclusion about where the mystery of religion is embodied, between the sexes, opposite sexes. Homosexuality's done the catholic's no favors, and an all male priesthood just compounds their problems, IMO. Jomoco
  10. I thought the neoliberals were all GWB acolytes who firmly believe bombing Muslims to death in their own countries will make them behave n like us better? They're confident it's the christian thing to do... Jomoco
  11. So what if the hypothetical pill being proffered did more than just align your polarity? Suppose it conveyed regenerative properties leading to healthier longer lifespans? Would you still choose to be gay n dead, or an optimized longer lived hetero capable of interstellar travel? Jomoco
  12. I consider heterosexuality sustainable, whereas a purely homosexual society would need lots of scientific help and intervention to sustain itself artificially. Personally I think it makes more sense to spread life beyond this planet with heterosexual exploration teams, scientifically speaking. Jomoco
  13. Was splitting the atom not a scientific revelation that changed our world guys? Are you absolutely certain there are no more jack's in our box? Jomoco
  14. The last man to be here......was never heard from again..... Jomoco
  15. Alright Ian. A hypothetical question if I may? If a gay person could take a pill that'd reverse their polarity to that of a heterosexual, would they take it voluntarily? Jomoco
  16. Keep annoyin me an I'll post some god awful poetry! Don't make me do it lads, you'll be sorry! Thanks Timon! Jomoco
  17. How about an extended rainstorm, triggering a landslide, on a hillside, with a condominium complex below it, at 1:00 am? My job was to remove the 85 foot pine in the middle of the slide, comin down the hillside real slow. Even with a long reach 120 ton crane, the tree had to be taken in two picks, meaning I'd have to stay with the remaining pick as it slid down the hill. Fortunately the CO was a cool icy pro, the power n phone company crews had the night lit up like high noon, and the job went smoothly. The key being the CO spooling in as the entire mass got closer to the crane. Being on emergency call for PacTel is probably one of the most challenging jobs in this biz. Rain or shine it's your azz on the line! Jomoco
  18. People who speak in absolute terms? Tend to be poorly educated IME. I've found that the more brilliant the scientist, the more readily they'll admit what they don't know far surpasses what they do. Particularly neuroscientists, in awe of what a miracle a properly functioning human in their prime really is, like a beautiful symphony with Beethoven himself conducting. I'm fairly confident modern medicine's done more tangible good for the world than an armada of priests, bishops n popes. Why do you persist in annoying so many people by declaring all religions fairy tales Ian? Perhaps you need more exposure to brilliant scientists who'd never dream of speaking in absolutes. Precisely because they're acutely aware of how little we know about the miracle of life, even in general terms. Jomoco
  19. Why do you think god made gay people, my fellow christians with a small c? They slithered outta eden like the rest of us. Even atheist must have a theory about how they came to be, a random mutation or something? I kinda think they were meant to be a thorn in our sides to remind us we're all flawed n mortal to varying degrees, though our destinations are the same. I kinda think any Jesus'd cure them of their afflictions if he could? Jomoco
  20. It's amazing cuz everything inside the canoe's an off the shelf item, except the canoe shield, which'll mostly be a thick wire mesh, to keep the unit cool. Most expensive item's the industrial grade wireless remote control, certified for personnel hoisting, with a 100 meter range. I wasted 13K trying to patent the very first leather tube cambium saver, and lost. I've a half dozen granted patents. I'm kinda sick of patents, gettin old n impatient to the point I don't give a fig anymore, anyone who wants to copy anything I show at the seminars can have it. That Ingersoll Rand unit's so plush, so versatile. You can power them electrically, pneumatically or hydraulically. Perfect for huge excurrent conifers broken into 4 vertical quadrants, up n down 4 times, at the touch of a button. Dynamic friggin SRT is the future! Jomoco
  21. Google Ingersoll Rand MR 150 Man Rider Winch Ted. Jomoco
  22. Ever bought a 600 ft spool of rope? They're not that big or heavy. Even Samson 1/2 inch True Blue. The system I'm putting together simply transfers that entire spool of rope onto an electrically powered reel, a portable one, integrated to a handtruck, reel at the bottom, generator powering it on top. It'll look much like half an aluminum canoe, with 18 inch wheels at the base, making it towable behind my tooltruck. So essentially you'll pull up onsite, disconnect the canoe, push or pull it to the tree, and strap it to it like a Hobbs, prow pointing upwards to shield the reel n generator from falling branches. The reel of course is remotely controlled by the climber, at the T bar, suspended by my new stand up saddle n boots harness. I figure it'll cost about 15K to slap together. I want the canoe to weigh about 5 hundred pounds, and the wheels n axles adjustable to a skinny width on site, then back to a broad width on the road. Hopefully it'll be ready to rock at the seminars here around August next year. What to name the system, a forest fishermen? Jomoco
  23. All duly elected leaders would do just fine n dandy, by taking their oaths to protect and defend the constitution deadly serious, then applying that same seriousness to protecting and defending the people/citizens the constitution was written for. These globalist have made protectionism a bad dirty practice, instead of the duty of every elected who takes the oath of office. Black is white, treason is good... Jomoco
  24. Buncha Limey reprobates Pickin on dead old ladies Stoking the fires of Hades Drooling mad dogs with rabies Belittling your own better halves Macho egos vulgar and crass Uncouth trolls guarding dilapidated bridges Collecting their tolls with holes in their britches Jomoco
  25. My cup of tea stirred with a knife.
