  10. Steve helped me clear this fallen ash at a fuel depot...when i got home I had 3 more on my ansaphone...and Im only a part timer !!!
  11. I worked for a local authority for 6 years as a council officer, In my experience they like to use tried and trusted contractors that they sometimes build friendships with. Its not always neccesary to give work to the cheapest quote. My advice to anyone wishing to work for councils , be it parish, district or county, is to approach them with a proposal of being available for work. If you dont ask, you dont get.
  12. ben hudson.........surprisingly !
  13. Oh no, is everything illegal in this country !!!
  14. Its who you know, not what you know in my experience !

  17. I would be interested to hear your Insurance policy recommendations ? It seems the market is shrinking in this respect ? what do you think and who do you use ? Also, how many millions of cover is adequate, in your opinion ?
  18. Peter your talents are wasted here, friend ! the old bailey awaits.....
  19. Agree with you all, I have a former girlfriend who is an HSE safety enforcement officer !(you can imagine how much fun she was !!!) Remember, suicide is illegal too, so woe betide anyone who tries that trick ! Skyhuck makes a great example here ! Do a friend a favour and your at liberty to perform work in your missus lingerie without fear of the long arm of the law !!! so to speak !
  20. outrageous ! What about all those nurses ????
  21. Im yet to hear about the law about wearing PPE ? If your employed, employment laws require you to wear PPE. If you dont, the police aint gonna arrest you ! I think PPE is entirely down to the user, by nature that were supposed to live in a 'free country' ! I hate when people start ranting about someone else not wearing PPE ! We all know what the risks are if you dont wear it ! We should all take the required measures to prevent accidents. You live and you die, some stuff happens in-between !
  22. saving loads a money isnt something you associate with Mercedes benz full stop ! Might save the amount you have to give to the taxman though !
  23. Red diesel is not a straightforward issue....first you must make sure you register it as an Agri mac ( free tax !) then your on limited road miles...blah blah blah....if you worry about legislation in this country you'll never get any work done ! it saves me £4000 a year in fuel ! I do lots of agri work so it suits me....depends on your circumstances but I never met anyone who's regretted buying one ! Best thing Mercedes ever made !
