  1. Under a shock loading they may spread and the cam pull through, but like Bob says, they need backing up, they are really an aid to climbing not a primary part of the system
  2. Quite a lot cheaper if I recall. Last time I bought something from the US I asked them to mark it down as a gift and the Pilchards here still charged me import duty despitebeing marked clearly, so I rang them and called them a shower of shites. I had to write in with a letter from the supplier etc to get my money back, I told them it was a free sample for a product I was thinking of retailing over here. Just a set of power hungry jobsworths
  3. Is that importing from america James? I'm sure I worked it out cheaper than that.
  4. Half a days work for you Bob
  5. Yes, Reg gave me the link sometime ago, a bit expensive but the build quality and simplicity is worth it. At least you can have something to show your grandkids when you grow old, sat round the tele playing vids of tree dismantles. "Hey up kids, there's grandad look, right at t top at tree" I'm still saving up for one, everytime I get enough I need a new bit of kit, got to save up for a unimog and then a new landcruiser Amazon so it's going to be a while yet.
  6. Here you go James http://www.vio-pov.com/
  7. I wanted to see what all the hype was about and to be honest, how someone can become famous riding on the back of BB is beyond me. How can anyone watch it is the question that we should be all asking and if we are not asking that question, maybe a visit to the phsyciatric unit is in order
  8. 2.27pm "Two of the housemates are in the garden." 4.09pm "Three of the housemates are in the kitchen, so and so, so and so, and so and so are in the garden arguing about, so and so." "Ketrayer, how you finding your time in the big brother house" "The lest of lem are vely vely vely cluel" 7.09pm "4 of the house mates are at the sofas" WHAT A LOAD OF CACK
  9. Had the tree been debarked by grazing animals, can see sheep in the background. It pees me off when you see horses in a field, no tree guards and all the bark grazed off the trees, owners of the horses oblivious to what the damage is.
  10. Does anyone know anything about these? http://autoline-eu.co.uk/sales_full.php?code=08040110182990998200 Are they 4x4, do they have low box etc Looks like the No 56 bus with a tipper back
  11. I am the same, can't stop thinking about stuff. Try writing down what you are thinking, or what you need to remember for the next day. Worked a treat for me
  12. Thats a new one, cheers for that Deer man, it may take a while to get some horses hoof, buggers don't stand still for long. I'll give it a go though.
  13. Got a live trap set but watching the vid he is very wary of that. Gonna try squeaking him tonight then we'll go to night vision.
  14. No, he didn't turn up, got cameras on pond and he normally turns up 4.20am every morning, except when I'm there Just hung washing out for our lass as shes just gone to work. Line snapped and dropped everything on floor. So went in workshop, got some 8mm prussic cord and put a new line up, double fishermans either end Expensive washing line but it'll not snap again, I love job satisfaction .....and don't you be coming and nicking my washing line to make VT's out of McSheffrey
  15. Was up at 3'15am this morning trying to catch out a rogue fox taking geese. I'm off for an hour or twos kip in a bit.
  16. I was thinking you would be carrying a short length of rope with you and leaving the tail dangling down to pull on. But for a temp redirect to get out to the end of a limb and limit swing etc you would as you say, just watch out you didn't catch the loop. I've often found that I would make do and put a sling and pulley in on a branch just above me that I can reach for a redi when it would be better to get one in the branch above that. Your system would be ideal for that by just throwing a line over if you can't reach. Another one for the armoury of knowledge, nice one Drew
  17. Womens hour???????? You do worry me sometimes
  18. I can just envisage the groundy pulling a branch with the tail end of the system caught up in it and the whole thing coming undone. Seriously though, you would have to put the tail end somewhere well out of the way of where you are working in the crown would scare you a bit if you caught it and undid it. Cracking idea though and so simple.
  19. I posted my bandit problem on there last year. Have been back and posted him the link to my posting on there.
  20. Raw brocolli dipped in Hellmans mayonaise. Yummy
  21. I've got the EOS 10D professional at only 6MP and that produces stunning photo's. As far as I'm aware the 400 has the same internals as the pro range it just doesn't have the magnesium case. Can't go wrong with canon.
  22. I used to get that Ben till I changed boots and went onto Haix, doesn't seem to be a problem anymore.
  23. Love watching your vids Reg. The loading on the biner will be minimal, all it is is a timber hitch finished off with the biner, the first knot takes all the strain not the biner. I use a hitch where the steel biner take all the strain and it hasn't failed. I may start using regs timber hitch on bigger stuff.
  24. My belly is best for time keeping. When it grumbles it's lunch, when it grumbles again it's time to go home. Works ok on over cast days too. Get thrown sometimes cos I can't tell whether it's my belly grumbling or the groundy.
