  1. If I got charged that much I'd rely on me checking my own gear thanks, It would be cheaper to buy new ropes every year. Just one question for you all... how many accident do you know of that have been down to kit failure. Plus, even if say a lowering rope failed that was lolered and killed someone, if that failure was down to over loading or misuse then lolering means nothing. If you are stupid enough to use worn or crap kit....blah blah blah Lolering has it's place to protect employees using the firms kit
  2. Looks like you've got a good tipping angle on it as well Steve, mine only goes to about 40 degrees so you cant tip uphill without shunting to shake the chip out
  3. What do you call a massively over priced bag Rob...? On average you will pay 30 to 50 quid for a bulk builders bag round that end.

  8. Spliced eyes are good and no, you just undo the little cam put the rope in place and put the cam back, no feeding rope ends through, should be a 15 second job. Undo here

  12. I think most of us are geeks without realising it, the more you do the job and the longer you are in it the more you find yourself talking about various aspects of trees. I went to see my vets tree to let him know if anything needed doing on it and ended up rooting through the fungii on his compost pile, he wondered what the hell I was doing, he asked me what species of fir his tree was, I said "I dont know but that is a common inkcap"

  19. This is my first mobile phone in 1980, £35 per month line rental and 50p per minute calls That was a lot of money then
  20. True but when you look at the cross section, there's a spike of penetration in the middle of the Mig bead and it is shallow down either side whilst the arc penetrate across the whole x section. I used to fabricate extractor fans for BNFL and they would not allow any mig welding on fans dealing with contaminated waste air for that very reason
  21. I've turned round and drove away on two jobs this year after getting out the motor and starting to transfer kit round the back to find doggy do absolutely everywhere. Absolutely no excuse for not cleaning it up when they know you are coming, they can stick their job
