  1. As a thanks to all our loyal customers we'll be temporarily increasing the % off you get from May to end August. Our focus has always been on giving priority to people who are regulars rather than new customers. Note this won't combine on any items that may be on sale. If you placed an order recently don't worry as this was automated on CSB site 10 days or so ago. No need to do anything as once you login it happens by itself. If you are finding the password re set a pain you're right - it is! Whatsapp on 07508276769 and we will re set it for you in the admin.
  2. Thanks for posting if you can add some pics to this then I'll refund one of the chains and files back to that order
  3. This pretty much says what chainsaw milling is like - Andreas has been milling a while and just started his YouTube channel please like the video and subscribe if you're feeling it! He's done some meaty trees out in Sweden and mainly on his own!
  4. Hi Mick - is that .325 chain? I spent 3 hours trying to square file 325 chain [it was a few years ago] but I'm not sure it's possible - the angle you have to hold the file means you hit the top of the chain tie straps or there is something that blocks it. I had same shape as you got. It should look more like below - more right angled. Cracking vid here - and mega expensive files here if you're still keen! But I think you need 3/8 or .404 to get a true result. Flat files - Chainsawbars WWW.CHAINSAWBARS.CO.UK Click here to go back to the chain sharpening tools menu
  5. I think the EXL is new materials - it's a little harder to sharpen but seems to be popular. DPX is the semi chisel and has been around for a long time.
  6. Yep it's a good point really - if you said a file per chain and the chain is already fairly expensive..
  7. Yep I know what you mean - but at least this one will stand out! Start writing to them maybe - as in theory it should be fairly easy to do - the top part of the chain is the same. But maybe they want to keep it for themselves for a bit.
  8. Yep they do other chains in .058 but they tend to be the exception to the rule - I don't think they'll do this in .058 [could be wrong though...]
  9. Yep it sort of is but I suppose it is an innovative chain and file system so...
  10. No it's only in a .063 - Stihl pretty much only make for Stihl
  11. First reply so if you buy a chain off our website [and a file] then post some pics and a review up on this thread I'll refund the order.
  12. Don't need to be a Stihl bar...
  13. What size bar you looking for?
  14. First to say it might actually get it!
  15. I appreciate Stihl are great at producing innovative chain [not so good at the pics] so let us oblige... Come on don't be shy you lot..
  16. Not tried it myself as am such a desk jockey [desk slag you can pick your adjective!] what's the impression?
  17. That's right you tell them and good for you right! My job is an office role so you're saying I'm not a man in the above? Even in the two comments you have made on this thread I'd say your strong and misguided opinions are a lot of what causes issues. I'm assuming you think yourself a big tough real man? If you are then it asks the question why are you so desperate to prove to the world that you are?
  18. You have to have some rules and structure but I think a lot of this comes down to how people are treated and respected underneath all those things. We made and do still make a lot of what would be classed as sexist and inapproprite jokes and we have had (and do have a woman) working with us. But because the baseline is a place of being valued and respected then it's only seen for what it is - light hearted stupid banter. Difficulty is it's hard to measure when something is banter and when it becomes derogatory. You can feel it but it's hard to articulate.
  19. Got loads of Sugi bars back in prices will be going up on Monday evening so please get stuck in before this happens. www.chainsawbars.co.uk not sure if the links below work! Use our selector to find the bars and chains for your chainsaw. Sugihara bars finally back in stock in limit numbers Finally after all the drama of supply shortages and other larger manufacturers taking advantage of all the hard work we did to promote this brand (and thus cause our supply to dry up... not that we're bitter or anything ;). Anyways use the Sugi page by clicking here or use the world beating bar selector by clicking here to find your bar and buy before 6pm Monday as prices will be going up then (we've been able to hold prices for years mainly because of our large inventory levels - them days are over all our costs have gone up massively and so we have to pass some of that on). Across all our product range we are bucking the trend - now we have a new inventory managament systems if it says we have it in stock WE HAVE IT IN STOCK! I know plenty of other companies no longer do this - well we always tried to do it and we'll continue to do it. The obsession with getting the best price at some stage has to be balanced with getting the right service and right product. And actually having that product to hand so you the customer can make an informed choice.
  20. The Sugi bars should all be booked into stock on or around the 2nd Feb
  21. Actually it's prob a good way to do the first few high boards or was this a double ended chainsaw mill?
  22. ...who's going to do the jobs if they go? I think it should be. I expect there will still be plenty of people doing those jobs.
  23. It's a very valid question - it doesn't guarentee a bar but there's usually not too many on each waitlist so as long as you buy within 3-5 days there should be no issues. What we'll do is once they are in stock allow a 5 day space for people to buy at current pricing.
  24. Yep we have x30 of them but after that Gawd knows when they will be in again! Get yourself on the waitlist as this seems to work pretty well and does notify people as soon as the stock is booked in:
