  3. Nice Pics, and a good job! Good to see an A'Eater out there....Thought I was the only one with one..lol
  4. How about a secret Arbtalk hand-shake? Or an Arbtalk stance, like the Masons have..?
  5. The is a continuation on the AA Trade Show thread – I think the show has great potential for a lot of us to meet up and socialise over a few beers etc… http://arbtalk.co.uk/forum/showthread.php?t=5928 One thing though – We need to be able to recognise each other! The T-Shirt ideas are great as long as they reach fruition. In the mean time here are some other ideas…. · Start using pics of yourselves on your avatars. · We wear pink Carnations in out left button holes. · Those who don’t want a change of Avatar – Print their current Avatar on a T-Shirt and wear with pride! · We all go ‘wireless’, plug our dongles in and wonder round the show with our laptops. Any more ideas….?
  6. I've never taken a pole-saw up into the crown, and never will. Tie-in your 0200 into the tree, use the other end of your rope, your strops and pull-out the Silky, You'll instantly become lighter and more manoeuvrable.
  7. Totally agree with all of the above, you’d be amazed at what will support your weight. Use the other end of your climbing rope, plus your strop….if all else fails, make it a 30% instead of the 20% it should have been!
  8. When both knees sound like a .303 being cocked as you walk up the stairs.
  9. Not yet my good-man, next summer…. With age comes patience…. …..and prosperity.
  10. Glad none of that was aimed at me!
  11. Please note – I’m not contributing to this thread as I feel I’ve nothing in common with it, Yours (in denial) John.
  12. I wonder how much the insurance is for a crane owner/operator?
  13. Fantastic story - Result!
  14. Pics man, Pics!!??
  15. Not sure what it is to be honest, here is a close-up......
  16. It was the wheels that caused the accident mate, apparently one touched the side of the bridge and it took the tractor straight over the edge.
  17. These are some old pictures of an incident at Eckington Bridge, Worcestershire. (the bridge dates from the late 16th or early 17th century. I was working as a mechanic at the time at my Fathers garage in Defford. Word got round that a tractor had fallen off the bridge, so I grabbed my camera and belted down there in the works Mini Pick-up! The farm worker apparently managed to get himself out and swam to the riverbank…..
  18. Well done that man! Four years / £2 million. It would pay them to create their own L/A Arb team. I’ll e-mail them and suggest it!
  19. Does anyone know how to import mpegs into Windows Movie Maker? I took some footage on my mobile and fancied editing it all together but Movie Maker doesn’t seem to accept mpegs. Any budding Spielberg’s out there??
  20. A pretty landmine?
  21. If I was a genius I would have spelled his name right....Doh!
  22. Well done MADarb, good job . Looks like a newish estate - Are you sure there was no TPO on the tree? Only saying that because if it was a new build the tree would have been TPO'd for sure.
  23. [ame] [/ame]
  24. This is all I could find on the ‘Master’. I went to one of his lectures once at Barchams. If you ever get the chance – Go and see him! The man is a legend [ame] [/ame]

About

Arbtalk.co.uk is a hub for the arboriculture industry in the UK.

If you would like to contribute to making this industry more effective and safe then welcome.
Just like a living tree, it'll always be a work in progress.
