  1. There was a debate a while ago about two people being in a MEWP. We were using two in a basket today and its so much quicker…cut a section, pass it, throw it – cut a section, pass it. Throw it…..and so on.
  2. I guess they are just a little old, have you tried a butterfly?
  3. Two people in a MEWP rock!!
  4. Never found that a problem, I just move the lever marken 'up' with my pinkie.
  5. I’m a little concerned that MEWPS have only got 4 votes. MEWPS do have a place in our industry and I only hope this thread does not put people off trying or even buying one. I wonder if the guy who sliced himself in the stomach while cutting the conifer hedge was using one??
  6. Not the first, wont be the last:sad: Get well soon...bro
  7. That’s weird ! Our MEWP broke down today, 1.45 on a Friday (we finish at 2.45) We’ve been re-pollarding some Poplars all week in a public park, just finished the last tree, brought the MEWP down, had a tidy-up and then went to start it so I could put the legs up….NOTHING! Just a click when you operate the switch. I had visions of sitting by a MEWP till the early hours till the technicians turn up. After much discussion and deliberating (inc. a jump start) turns out it was the solenoid, so shorted it out with a combi-spanner and off I went on my merry-way. Can do without that kind of stress on a Friday, I can tell you!
  8. Unbelievable!! My sister works for a vehicle tracking company. I keep telling her that there is a market out there in the Arb industry. It’ll be fun to see where all our chippers are going!
  9. Not good Andy Was the van outside Stu's house? If it was they've got some balls I'm tellin you!
  10. MEWP or Climb eh...? Wish there was a 3rd box to tick - MEWP and Climb, as I would have ticked that one.
  11. Just go to the 'This Oak Needs Your Help' thread....you can delete the whole lot! lol Anyway, must not deviate from thread - so..... SWB - How come you lay the brash under the tree when you fell it (must make clearing-up a pain with a big tree lay on top of it all). Why not a thick hinge and a nice open sink-cut? (Can you tell I'm trying to make relevant conversation)
  12. Nothing wrong with a little crash-bang-wallop good fella, tis the council way you know! I'm a firm believer that if there is an easier way to do things, with less effort and less risk - Go for it!! That’s my 1000th post – Good-luck and prosperity will be bestowed on thee!

  14. Oh my sides are splitting !! If you were as handsome as I you wouldn’t have to worry about your accruing years.
  15. I think metres would be better than Ft. but then I'm younger than most of you guys.
  16. Thats an odd place for it to fail if it did have Meripilus, looks like it could have gone in the area of the graft....
  17. No dd carried out yet. (apart from a sounding mallet) Def. no Ustulina present. I'm monitoring the growth of the brackets and the reaction growth - I'm getting slightly concerned at the increased number of smaller brackets (poss. panic fructification?) that have popped up this season. Will keep a close eye on this one...
  18. Some detail of the fruit bodies (these were taken 12 months ago)
  19. This is one of my favourite/most interesting trees in the city. The epicormic had just been removed and has exposed the massive reaction growth to the rear of the main stem. Sorry for the quality of the vid. [ame] [/ame]
  20. Bottle of whisky helps at Christmas ! Lol
  21. Mate if you can make it next week I'll e-mail them and see if they will save a place for you.
  22. What are you on about young-man???
