  1. Its after reading that I really hope that there is "karma" and that they get theirs!! That reminds me of a tale my grandad used to tell, He worked as a boiler man at a mill, there was a guy he worked with who would catch spiders and put them on his coal shovel and hold the shovel over the fire and watch them run round till they died,if my grandad was there he would stop him. One Monday morning his wife came to the mill, as he had not come home all weekend. It transpired that he'd had a row with his wife on Friday morning,so Friday night he went to the pub had a few beers, then got fish and chips, not wanting to go home he went back to the mill. Now on Fridays they would empty the boilers for cleaning and inspecting. They would stay warm for a fair while,so he had taken his fish and chips and climbed into a boiler to eat them,he must have fallen a sleep. Saturday morning the weekend grew came in,fitted the man lid to the boiler, filled it with water and lit the fire! Whether he drowned or was boiled alive is not known, but my grandad always said "what goes around comes around".

  9. With the continued confusion with regard to red diesel, increasing cost of red and the 2500 L annual duty free allowance on veg oil. Plus the environmental considerations. I was wondering about switching to veg. Any advice, experience would be very much appreciated  P.S.would my Disco 3 TD be OK? would it void its warranty?

  17. On a tricky take down, over buildings, etc, start on an easy bit where it won't mater and get a feel for the tree. All wood is different and you will get a feel for how it will take a hinge or step cut. Then when you move on to the tricky bit you will more able to predict your cuts
  18. I don't want to name names, but Lee would defiantly NOT be one of them!!
  19. I am somewhat new to the world forums and as such am a little naive with regard to protocol and good form. Since finding this site I have gone back and read most of the old threads and keep up to date with new threads,I have found that as you read different members posts you get an idea of their work situation, firm size, experience etc.And the more experience, etc, that people have the more weight the advice carry's,IMO,and this resource of shared knowledge and experience is a fantastic aid to our working lives. But I have also noticed that on occasion a member will put up a post containing information that totally contradicts information in an earlier post, such as number of staff, vehicles, chippers, etc,or years of experience,to name a few. I find this very annoying as persons reading that post without reading the earlier one may give the advice more credence than it deserves as they think that that member is doing very well so there advice will really help them. But I also find it annoying as I dislike dishonesty! I know I am not the only one to have noticed this, but what tends to happen is the people do not refer to the contradiction, they may make sarcastic comments that then tend to turn into a slanging match which helps no one and those who are unaware of the contradictions think someone is being picked on. So what I need to know is,is it "bad form" to simply point out to the offender that what they have put contradicts an earlier post and as such they are either lying now or were lying then. Or should you simply ignore it and move on?
