  1. Very true Bob. Its been law for over 9 years, I believe.
  2. I've had a claim and they still didn't ask.
  3. How I'm I going to fall to my death from a broken down mog
  4. Totally agree!! they are still thieving scum, but back then EVEN THEY would not take away a man's means of earning a living.
  5. I have both LOLER certs and NPTC, just not been asked for either.
  6. The engine is worn, not from driving it with head blown, but from working hard for me over the last five years. The only damage caused by driving it was the bent con rod, I rang Alex who thought it was worth trying to drive it back, he did advised me not to turn it off. Once they had taken the head off they would have seen the wear on the bores they would have recommended a rebuild anyway and it has been using a lot of oil in recent weeks. Getting it recovered with a front mount chipper and timber tailer fitted would have been some what difficult. But anyway thanks for your encouragement!! your a real ray of sunlight
  7. Thanks again lads! It really nice to get so many encouraging comments and offers of help!
  8. Lycetts, used to be called Algarve, why?
  9. If you do it for money its "business" wether you do 1 day per year or 365.
  10. Cheers mate. I'm hoping to have her back before Christmas, fingers crossed.
  11. Cheers Matt. The engine is being rebuilt, apparently the 200bhp engines are dry lined, so it having new liners and pistons, etc.
  12. Welcome to the site mate ! I think you talk a lot of sense. Thanks for the words of encouragement, hope you get you £5K.
  13. Never been asked for LOLER, can't remember if they asked for NPTC when I first took it out, I've been with the same insurer for 12years+.
  14. I had a 395xp, horrible, horrible saw, IME, Only saw I've ever had that I had to be really careful not to get it too sharp!! if I took the raker's down just a little to far it would grab in the cut and the clutch would slip. Only kept if for a few months, changed if for a 066 which I have now had for about 8 years, really great saw, IME. In the years I've had mine it has only had to have the bar replaced, it has never let me down, or even needed a repair!!
  15. Thanks Ed thats a really kind offer!! I've managed to borrow a mog for now. Thanks Mate!!
  16. Thanks mate, it will be sorted soon, but it will be very expensive
  17. Thats what I'm hoping mate!! Going to have a wastegate turbo fitted to take her up to 240 horse. So we should get to site earlier! and earn more money to pay for the repairs!
