  1. I've been asked to price for the pruning of some Planes, I know at times they can have a very nasty affect on our respiratory system. Is it just in the spring?? or other times of the year?? If I'm going to be coughing my guts up I want to a hefty price in We don't have that many Planes up here so my experience is some what limited. Cheers
  2. Good for them!! Lets hope there is a long line of people prepared to help stop the LA getting their own way with our tree.
  3. Thats because I'm not gay!!!!!!!!!
  4. Thats all I've ever done
  5. Hehehe!!!! My Mrs has just printed that off.
  6. That was for sale in the classified on here a while back. The owner must have done a deal with Frank.
  7. Been using it for about 6 months now, I've started using a 3/16th file for the first few sharpenings, to open up the gullet a bit more so it remains larger as the tooth gets smaller.
  8. I run the new chain on my 200 and love it, what don't you like about it???
  9. Of cause they could, thats why a TPO was put on the tree at the request of the residents. I would bet they were told by the LA that the cost of mitigation to retain the tree was far greater than the cost of removal, so they could not justify it. The muppets then go on to spend over £200K, to get their way!!!
  10. Not sure you need them on such a small saw.
  11. Who said it was a "veteran"???????? veterans are generally well over 100. In the picture I saw it was a nice mature Beech, that could be 100 years, maybe less but saw what???????
  12. All these sums don't change the fact that it would have been quicker and easier to have done the job differently. Plus Daniel did not do the math and IMO got lucky. As for the comment about a snapping ropes not being dangerous, that is simple not true, today I snapped a throw line (about 4mm) while pulling a bull rope up a tree, the end hit me below the eye and was pretty painful, my groundie said the make left looked like I had been punched in the face. I dread to think what damage a 1/2" rope with a breaking strain of 3tonne would do if it snapped and hit you.
  13. My Mrs was looking for some walking boots for one of my girls, she came across this listing:001_rolleyes: Regatta Walking Boot Size 2.5 EUR35 NEW | eBay WTF, £6.99 for postage of each boot and what if you win the first one and they get their mate to stick a bid on the other My wife sent them a message saying how pleased she was that they are being sold separately, as our child has only one leg, just hope you eventually sell the other They are also selling a pair of boys football boots separately
  14. I bet neither arborist was told there was a budget of £250K to retain the tree!!!!!!!!!!!! I bet if they had they would have come up with options that would have been well under budget!!!
  15. If I get asked for bark I say sorry but I don't have that, but I have wood chip if thats any good. If you think about it how can wood chip be bark?, bark is only a tiny % of whats in wood chip, why would anyone call it bark??? "Good stuff" is generally hard wood chip without leaves. "Mulch" is any thing used on top of the soil around plants to suppress weeds and keep in moisture.
  16. Not really, this tree was NOT planted for timber and I bet if felled it would end up as fire wood. The timber he uses will be from trees planted as a crop and harvested for that purpose. The house which drains are affected is around 20 years old, so built long after tree was mature. Why was the house allowed to be built there?? why were the drains not put elsewhere or protected ??? This dispute has cost £250K Why was that money not spent on moving the drains and leaving the tree??? Great deal of incompetence on the part of the LA IMO
  17. If the gloves increase your grip, that must then lead to increased force being transfered to you elbow.
  18. Maybe, but I don't seem to have the problems getting paid that many on here report.
  19. Sounds like he's trying to run before he can walk. It really annoys me we so seem to expect others to subsidies their business be expecting them to wait for payment:thumbdown:
