  1. I've never really considered sheep to be creatures of particular compassion or fellow feeling??
  2. I've been using the SJ for over a year, it was OK, better than a prussic which is what I had used for the previous 19 years, But the SJ was by no means perfect and was very annoying at times. I've been climbing on the ZZ for just over a week, IMO, the ZZ is great!!, it does every thing I want, it 100% consistent, it self tends really well, descending is very smooth and instinctive, its just like using a hitch, but without the need to tend. The ZZ is the best bit of kit I have bought since my first Hiab.
  3. It looks as though he is roped into the crane hook, I think his intention was to flop the lump and stand on the stump, but a stub on the lump caught his line, taking him with the lump. Would have been much better tied to the stump and lifting the lump vertically.
  4. As I said earlier, this can be argued, but its better to do something than nothing? No? My understanding is that much of the money raised is given as loans to individuals for them to start micro businesses.
  5. Me and my two son's (15 and 16) worked on saturday, it was cold a and wet, we were clearing and burning Holly. We were tired, wet and muddy, my sons were commenting on how nice it would be to get home to a warm home and hot meal. I agreed and said how lucky we are to live where we do and as well as we do, I asked them to spare a thought for people in poor countries, who are scavenging on tips to feed their starving family. How anyone can moan about those who are trying to just do something is quite beyond me.

  9. The world is a very complicated place and its very unfair. But surely its better to do something than nothing, we could all sit back and say this, that and the other need to change before things will improve and wait for those things to change, thats the easy option. I'd sooner put my hand in my pocket now in the hope some good comes of it, rather than just ringing my hands and finding fault.
  10. If the only thing CR does is make some poor folk feel some one cares, its worth it IMO. I also really enjoy the comedy, its nice to see that some will humiliate themselves for this in a way they will not for cash.
  11. Just tell yourself what ever makes you feel good
  12. "Teach a man to fish....." and all that
  13. If the below is not a "criticism" of all the celebrities involved in CR, I don't know what is!!
  14. That may all be true, but criticising those who are simply trying to do some good, is pretty low IMO
  15. You have no idea what people are doing privately. If they do int on the quite they get slagged off, if they publicise it they get slagged off, they can't win, can they??
  16. With celebrity come power, some chose to use that power for good, I personally applaud their efforts.
  17. What a despicable thread!!
  18. Nice flat cut David, sharp saw and skill there!!
  19. If you move the handle to the other end, it would be a decent little machine, I converted mine, it was great.
  20. Wise men have no buttons to press. Its only words.
