  1. Whats this "caution" people keep speaking of???? Are TO's now police officers?? does it count as conviction as in the case of a police caution?? I would image its more a case of a warning letter, which states that they believe you have committed an offence and they are not on this occasion going to attempt to prosecute, but any further offence would be pursued, in which case its nothing like a "caution".
  2. Incorrect, they will be held jointly responsible in most cases.
  3. A better tip would be to check for TPO's before hand.
  4. Will they want them returned?? I would have thought they would be more interested in a decent written revue.
  5. I believe you can unplug the steering wheel and move it to the other side, clever those Germans
  6. There should be a cable or chain, to catch the trailer if it comes unhitched.
  7. I always attach to the hitch, I can't see it snapping, I'm pretty sure the cable is for if you fail to hitch properly or the hitch mechanism fails.
  8. Exactly!!!!!!! good for them coming to the coal face rather than just listening to the bean counters!!!!
  9. Its a poor do when you get a tosser of a plod, but there are plenty of good ones out there, few years ago we were working a fair way from home, so set off home in the light but was dark before we got home. About 5 miles from home I hear the police siren and see blue lights in my mirror, pulled over copper stops and jumps out "you've no back lights lad" I go look and the trailer light plug is not in, so I plug it in and one rear light comes on:blushing:, "there you go lads drive careful" and off he drove
  10. Can the inner plates be strengthened? are they not sandwiched between the roller and the outer plates, leaving no room for additional metal??
  11. Write to the Chief Constable, explaining how sorry you are and that you had connected it before setting off and it must have some how come unconnected. Point out you will be making a point of double checking the connection in future. I borrowed a mates car years ago, got a puncture, got out the spare and it was bold, I fitted it and headed to ATS, they were closed, I got pulled as I was heading away from ATS (by a copper on foot!!!) got a ticket for bold tyre, wrote to CC, got off.
  12. Alex did not say it could not be done, just that the side plates on the roller housing were a bit thin and I think they had had problems with them bending, so he preferred not to do it and encouraged those who were doing high volume of brash to go for a larger machine with the stronger roller housing.
  13. But not when they're horizontal
  14. Google earth spoilt that one.
  15. But if you fell enough trees (on a none exempt site) and the council disapprove, but have no power due to no TPO's of CA, they may pressure the FC to use no FL as a stick to beat you with.
  16. Or they may just slap TPO's on them
  17. You won't be felling the ones you have applied for, you'll be felling those that don't need a licence.
  18. Arborisk for me, very competitive and outstanding service when I unfortunately needed to make a claim due to theft.
