    Spikes

I love the carbon ones but i want strength titanium is 60 percent heavier than aluminium but twice as strong. Its not hard to sharpen just needs a different tool. I really love the idea of titanium but they dont look as comfy.
  2. ha ha i do keep an air of nervs about me when climbing damn right its why i keept all my digits. If i ever have a serious accident new trade for me.

  9. Hey sorry 18stoner aint had my meds lol. I didnt mean to go off topic boys and girls. Its a hard old game the day dont end for us when it ends for every one else plus all the crap at the week ends. I guess you put in as much as you want out of it. tadaaaaaa
  10. 4 years or 40 years im sorry is there a new way of doing trees when you get to 40. Im not here to say i know this an that if you read it that way then you got it wrong. This is not about the thread either. so we will end that. How much experianced needed depends on the person i did learn to climb quicker than some others i was lucky enough to climb with my dad and learn then i worked for some of the biggest companies in the area to expand what i had already learned also picking up good bits and viewing what not to do.
  11. I charge for a day £100 including my 200t harness ropes and lowering gear and one medium saw. Cant charge more they will just use some one else.
  12. I am insured and i have been doing it 4 years thank you. And im doing my courses not that its your bees. you are not getting my point saying i was quick was not a dig understand i have to be quick and i have to be low on price not cos im crap a cowboy or any other snide remark you can think of not cos im the best what an idiot remark. but cos thats the market i have to compete in. I really dont need to justifie my work. But to end this thread. I get plenty of work my quality is fine otherwise i would not get work i work to 3998 and within hse i use all the best gear to aid me and they all conform to loler. I should not have to defend myself but some of you are very rude and you have the ego. But thanks for your construtive critisysm
  13. The bigger the tree the more work how can you argue that its wrong. I think you read me wrong but hey thats life. Pruning small trees is to me harder than big ones in that you have less to work with and tighter movement. I do go over 100ft but my point was we dont have that many here no more so its not profitable. Last note i totally agree about being heigh and taking in the views.
  14. Im the odd one out i agree i use main rope and a petzl grillon for work securing i never only go up on one rope. Its only cos i get scared lol.

    Three Do,s

AN arborist motto should be Saftey first quality second speed third Who would agree disagree this is my way of working any hoot.
  18. Yeah i still do climb were i live there is lots of woodlands never have a problem your not damaging the tree. And me to climb alone since im not using a chainsaw risk is reduced and we should all no by now how to climb safley
  19. I wont say what i charge but from what was said in a previous thread i must be cheap im not skint i never said that but you say you have a college thats not a company competing against you and a big firm is easy to compete against they over charge. Look in tree pics for some of my pics. I would love a day we all get together and have a chin wag bit of climbing would be fun. Oh and a job that will take 8 hours i would never do just two people always a three man team cut clear chip.
  20. Hey matty using oceanp the cord is stiff and doesenmt grip so good but im still wearing it in and it wears out quicker to ???>
  21. I would reduce its weight but limited thinning out only any tree works damages all trees end of but some times can help the tree in the long run.
  22. Wow buy insurance get qualified and guess what you the best tree climber there is. This must be the easiest job in the world do a couple of week long courses and your at the top of your game. Common do you really believe that. My work is pukka skill will never be attained by a piece of paper but its down to the individual i will never leave a tree unless its exactly what i want it. A big firm all the tools tickets insurance etc in my experiance its the small firms that do a better job take more care.
  23. Yeah VT can and does slip which really makes it a bad hitch because a good hitch should never need help to grip the rope. I use the VT its good but im sure there are far better eg the icicle is superior in grip and release but its a pain in the asse with a hitch climber
  24. Lets be honest when to many climbers work close by with your attitude would end up skint. Our quality is as good as any ones but when you have many people after the same work price is the only barganing tool end of. Again i would welcome any one too see my work i posted pics have a look.
  25. Hey whats the best spikes about there are so many
