yes there are guidelines they do give you examples of blanks there is certain info that should be include and that would be taught on the course you think things have changed since 94/95 but not the gear well my gear certainly has no 3 strand or screwgates for me forms for loler will vary from person to person and from how in depth they do there stuff mine certainly has evolved over the years to try to make it more comprehensive but yet simple and easy to understand for everyone and how computer literate or illiterate some folk are and i am not disputing the lengh of the course but they need several years of industry experience to go on the course and i know of several that after passing the EXAM have decided that they are not competent to assess kit p.s the exam is very hard and indepth with a high standard and failure rate

do you really think you can do it in half an hour most kits take me several hours but if you brought a kit all marked all crabs cleaned and not sticking all info on a spreadsheet that i could copy and paste onto a proper form then it would be a pleasure to do I try to be realistic about what i charge cheapest kit is £45 then its up to you if you keep upto date records look after your kit log all new kit and mark it all up and keep crabs cleaned and obviosly it also depends on how much stuff you send for inspection

    Cutter angles

it is all down to the chain rather than the saw ie i use stihl chain on husq saws problem with using the roller guide on stihl chain is the top angle will be wrong.... oregon who make roller guides have a 10 degree drop on the back where as still is flat at 90 degrees to the bar so all will be wrong most oregon is 30 degrees also also if using 3/8 chain the file size is different between oregon and stihl so again roller no good hope that makes sense
