    On the subject of Generators - a 3 phase generator is an option of course if you need the loger bar and extra punch or a digital phase converter 240v - 415.

    I've held back on any form of advertising because as we all now in the South West timber was in short supply and this delayed our drying cycle. Fortunately we have had a few loads of timber well on the way with around 37m3 on the lorries and hopefully more to come. Luckily as we have a reasonably draughty storage area with everything in crates, MC drops rapidly even in winter.

    Everything Spud ported 346xp, 357xp and for the small work 201 rear handle. Oh and off the ground 2511.

    Last week was well up on last year 26m3 and we had raised prices by £5 which made no difference. 9 so far this week, so it looks set to be a record year and everything we have crated up is drying rapidly in the dry breezy weather. Oil prices are steadily rising and more and more customers say they are just using the woodburner.

    Or fit hydraulic motor run off the tractor service through basic spool valve.?

    The Posch is faster than it looks actually and we love it - but the amount of oversize is killing us. 1/2 a 25T load 2 weeks ago was oversize - murder ! If I was in your shoes I would be looking at cutting a track to get the lorries to the processor, possible harvest the stone from site (ugg - maybe not if granite) and getting a log deck you can load from stack to deck. You know about ibc's and everything is in place to grow your business and have an easier life further down the road. You already have a great reputation, so it would be easy to expand your customer base. Dare I say you are limiting your own growth - think BIG, or at least larger. It's always easier looking in from the outside of course. ?

    I was going to build a splitter with a metre wide roller infeed that finished within 14" of splitter knife centre, so that large 2ft dia. hardwood rings would slide off the trailer or pallet across the rollers and its own inertia would take the ring under the knife. A used conveyor on the right of table taking the split into IBC's. Trailer or pallets of rings always just above wide roller infeed - never lifting those heavy rings. I decided easier and far more cost effective to change to the 480 processor - soon !

    Need to be registered, taxed, insured and on white diesel if not solely for use in agriculture or forestry.

    I think you will be far better off selling privately, as that's what I plan to do with my Posch. ?

    Yes, pretty well all the hire companies have them - we've hired several for weeks at a time over the years and I'd be happy with one.

    Just missed you then. Spent 1 1/2 hours with Mark, Adrian at Kilworth and also the technician from the Tajfun factory. Waiting for the price now on my particular modified 480+. What do you think the depreciation would be on a 3 year old 480+ ?

    This is one of my favorites of Duckgirl's impressive use of a Duck with Engcon attached.

    I have used a 7.5T Ex. for everything he wants to do - however on my wish list is a duck as in my experience nothing comes close. I can insure one for a day or a week for pennies to move between land on the highway. Best stick to early Sunday mornings though.

    I can't see in reality any faster than that with 10" split to a sensible size. Before I decided to upgrade to a 480 plus processor, it was planned to buy a Krpan like yours or a Rytec. The 1st thing I would have done would have been to extend the blade by 3" with Hardox to allow for grid splitting of larger rings. Hopefully with a larger processor all the roundwood will run straight through, with very small amounts ever to ring up. Spent 1 1/2 hours with Kilworth at the APF as they had one of Tafjun's technicians over from Slovenija. They are going to try to spec. a pump to match my processor tractor's standard belt speed of 540rpm as GDH has issues on max size timber when splitting and cutting at the same time on Oak with 12 way running at 430rpm with same tractor. It missed the optimum power at that rpm.

    With your Kerpan splitter straight from the trailer, pulling the rings towards you on the trailer with a very light hookaroon - there is no lo-cost simple way - that's our approach to large rings ? There is a more expensive but easier way - and that is buy our 'like new' 2015 Posch S360 and drop up to 15" rings in there with the 8 way! This is our 2nd one from WILSONS exactly 3 years old. The new Posch is £21,500 + vat with £ 400 + vat delivery. Our Posch S360 is £ 14,500 + vat. Like you the Firewood product must be right, period. ?

    Topper - isn't that a term originating from the 70's. Years ago when I did my Tech. Cert. with Treelife, Dave said it made him cringe when he heard the terms topping and trees used in the same sentence and I recall there was a round of applause. Things have progressed and I think the alarm bells sound with most Arboriculturist's when they hear or see the words 'Topping' !

    I have always painted end when LOG - but never seen elsewhere, which is why I asked ? It's quicker also and you can paint date any species on also, that saves a lot of time later.

    Sorry off topic - but I have always wondered wether to paint the ends of stacked sawlogs right away with an oil based paint if they are not going to be milled for a year or 2 - Se7enthdevil / Big J ?

    I think you would earn more training people than doing the job - but I guess that's not your thing right now. People just love your style of delivery in your videos and it's 100% engaging. ?
