  1. done, cheers guys!
  2. After some help with a college assignment, looked online, searched on here, and i cant find my answer... Im after a quick step by step guide on how to fell a hollow tree. Asking as if the tree is straight, not leaning, with no surrounding obstacles/targets and a small fell diameter. Any help appreciated.
  3. pretty sure you can get longer leg versions, seen them online somewhere. Had mine for a year, really comfy to climb in, but can sometimes be a bit baggy. Might give hi-flex a go after these are destroyed.

  5. Practicing Aerial rescues at college:
  6. 'In the quiet words of virgin mary - come again?'
  7. JCB tough phone, 3rd link above. A member of staff at college has one, its exactly what it says on the tin - tough. Seems its been well tested too - [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5OVAB9mHdSA[/ame] Bit on the expensive side for the technology inside though....
  8. Im in a similar position myself, started climbing with the college a few weeks back, have CS38 next week. I personally dont find the heights thing much of an issue, it just took some getting used to the natural movement of the tree when its real windy and trusting your eqiuptment and knots. Like others have said, concentrating on what your doing, not where you are is a great way of dealing with it. Heres some pictures from last fridays climb, cracking views from top: -Joe
  9. Going with college, Should be good. Never been before...
  10. Cheers, for this thread, cleared up a question or two i had in my mind. I shal be starting ND Arb in sept at Sparsholt, cant wait!
  11. ha seat belt. I think they where harnessed on, same principle to working off a mewp i geuss. Certainly looked efficient, they towed a chipper from the bus so the guys on top could just chuck branches behind as they went along.
  12. Just seen this on the local news. http://www.westsussex.gov.uk/ccm/content/your-council/news-room/press-releases/2008/2008-04/just-the-ticket-tree-cutting-bus-set-to-go-into-service.en Ive not seen anything like it before, seems a good cost effective way of dealing with this type of work. Anyone seen it/similar?
  13. obviously has never played tetris.
  14. lmao, what an idiot.
  15. Have had a pair of these for around 3 weeks, great boots, i find them very comfy, but a few friends of mine do not agree, must just be personal taste/foot shape. Switched the spikes for the blank plates after about 30 mins of use, there pretty pointless in my opinion, dont really increase grip for branch walking, more anoying than anything. Another anoying point is the lace hooks/guides? There is one on each boot on the inside of the ankle, which appears lower than other Haix models, and most other boots ive seen. This has resulted in both being snapped off of my boots when using a spade. Overall, great climbing boots, maybe not so good all rounders.
