  1. I see that Heather Mills' vegan food business is going down the tubes and she blames meat eaters for this. Nothing to do with nobody buying her products in the volume she needed for it to survive. Shame for the factory folk etc, but I must ask, if it ain't selling then why make it and blame someone who has no inclination to eat nowt but plants?
  2. Started to watch Hatfield and McCoy on prime. Based on true story about two feuding families in America post Civil War. Pretty gruesome times. The families called a truce in 2003 although they still reckon to have not forgotten......
  3. To be honest, I think that everyone of working age should pay for their potions and it would free up some dosh for extra services!
  4. I would have said that mulching lawns need to be 40mm at the least. Okay for outlying areas and so one but it dont do the grass good to be right short anyhow - unless you do all the rest of the stuff like remove thatch etc!
  5. I just got back from the pharmacy - I got to take some stuff to help with a busted lung. I got the txt to say they were ready and went up there to collect. Name/address usual thing and she plonked the box on the counter and walked away as I whipped out the phone to pay for them. "You were 60 the other day so everything is free from now onwards" was all she said over her shoulder! I knew I had got to 60 but I never realised that proscriptions were free! I thought that happened at Government retirement age!!!
  6. Morning! I'm in, but jaded after a bottle of Merlot. Minus 3 here too!
  7. I right enjoyed those too. Wept when the blonde croaked!
  8. I watched Cunk for the first time when I was quite drunk and seriously didn't know which way to take it, then got what she was doing and decided that she and the script writers are bloody clever! Not on TV but a good listen is the Radio 4 series called, 'Sorry, I haven't a clue'. Seriously good wordplay and often quite smutty too!
  9. Spanners undo the grease nipples on most things.

    D-Max

I hear that there is an approved chip/tune on the DMax, anyone had it done? Is it warranty approved? Is it any good and how much was it?
  11. Tonbridge born and schooled in Westminster until expelled! Sad but a life lived on his terms! Thanks for the entertainment Chap!
  12. The local Labour candidate pushed his flyer through the door. He blames Rishi and the Tories for the poorly insulated housing stock of the last 40 years! But the kind of muppetry talk may be for another forum.... Incidentally, when I moved here, there were plans for a new golf club/hotel/spa/exhibition centra around the town. Even the LA let it slip that once the Golf was built, they would then be able to build housing easier!
  13. It is harsh Mark. But business is. If you make £25 on a saw just to add to your total so you get another few % off Stihl while the local chap makes £100 but doesn't get the same rate from Stihl, the selling/supplying pyramid is screwed! I liked the fact that the Internet made things visible but I don't like 'price matching' as the 'value' of the local chap is lost to clicks on a mouse. Anyone remember Michael Richmond and the MR catalogue? He sold to Charterhouse who gave up just as the digital age was coming in because the rewards didn't match the investment.

    Overloaded

Once had to clear cordwood off of the side of Breedon quarry at Coalville. We were asked to exit via weighbridge and got told off for having a load of 2.8t. Drove okay back to the yard though.
  15. Constant discounting and price matching ends in disaster. Remember FR Jones? Strive to be popular by being cheap but in the end, it doesn't work...
  16. Sorry, I should have explained, Griffin are GreenMech chipper dealers but, a chipper is a chipper to be honest! Who is the Forst Assist people over that way?
  17. What make is it? Try Griffin Machinery.
  18. I hear good things about Sam Turners.
  19. I seem to recall that the Forst pages, and let's not forget, they copied Jensen, recommended a different clearance on the inner edge to the outer edge to account for the 'flex'. But then, blades bursting and blade bolts loosing their thread are not covered by their warranty!?!
  20. Not sure how the branch logger would fair with your hp tbh. GreenMech Eco150TMP is away past your budget but I think we have one CS100 TMP left which would be closer.
  21. Why does the blade gap need altering? We have about 2-3mm on ours, similar to Forst etc. The box settings should already be set no matter what the tractor is surely? We never change our No Stress settings on different tractors? The importers are Overland based down by Reading.

I had the old Rodeo and the level of service and support impressed me. New seals on the gearbox as they weeped at 180k under warranty! Not over expensive either! Hope the new is good as the ancient, high mileage is swapped for one in the new year!
  23. Doing a Goulash beef stew with lazy mash today!
  24. We had a brass banjo on a short length of flexible hose in the tank so it went to the low side if working on a bank, the crud did too if you used dirty fuel!
