Heave is only a potential issue if the tree(s) predate the build and that there was a soil moisture deficit at the time of building; even then it's rarer than hens teeth. After the hurricane in 1987 loads of big trees on highly shrinkable clay soil were taken out yet there wasn't a significant uptick in claims for soil heave damage.

The odds are that your neighbour's insurers will have made your insurers aware of the situation. I'd be inclined to let them deal with it. That's why you pay for it. If your neighbour is making a subs claim they will be taking a significant hit in terms of excess.

I was diagnosed with a TMD. Gum shield from dentist sorted me out. It's not just grinding your teeth, clenching your jaw and can do it. My dentist told me that upper and lower teeth aren't supposed to touch each other for more than 25 seconds a day, and that includes eating. If you drive alot you may well be subconsciously 'gritting your teeth'. I bit through the first gum shield thing on the first night I had it.
