  5. Good point regarding myc, however IMO it would be a waste of time inocultating with soil that compacted, i'm going with the university of Masachusets [sp] and suggest soil de-compaction.... Management strategies: Use a combination of cultural measures and plant resistance to manage Phytophthora bleeding canker. Too little as well as too much soil moisture plays a significant role with this disease. Trees growing where there was a water shortage had extensive cankers. However, if provided with soaking irrigations of the root zone during dry periods, and it appeared that the trees could compartmentalize the canker infections. Maintain a well-drained site through ''''soil aeration and improved drainage'''' Provide several inches of composted bark mulch

I'm sorry to say but regretably my TCH workshop will have to be put back until later on in the year, i'll announce a date closer to the time, my sincerest applogies, but I will be doing one thats a promise, i'll do my best to get something sorted for June/July.. Now this brings me on to a seperate subject, i'm doing this workshop for FREE! no charge full stop! strictly http://www.arbtalk.co.uk members only! We have enough experienced members on here , with various skills etc how about we all think about what we have to share and offer,why don't we help ourselves! Anyone else fancy doing a FREE or minimal charge workshop? i'm sure we have enough resourses between us all to get a few things going..

  19. Tree report writing isn't rocket science, once you get a basic template, I'll email you over a ''template'' I designed myself if you want, how much is the AA charging for such a course? send me over your email address The trick is keep your reports simple, understandable and to the point!
