  1. Not really. that plant uses the oversize material or even old pallets as dryer fuel.
  2. Yup. Beaver Plant now provide full UK backup.
  3. I had an immaculate one ... and stupidly sold it:001_rolleyes:
  4. Of course. Not that the hiezohack is a bad machine in any way, and if you ask Matt he is Alex THE man to get one in the UK from. But I can supply a simpler machine that chips better with a decent sized rotor, only 4 knives, direct discharge, and will fit on a 3 PL or have anything up to a 500hp CAT factory fitted. Horses for courses, I just like to offer a different option.
  5. Not really mate. Logset UK are in scotland and wales, and I think all the norcars were rebranded as Logset. Heres a couple of pics - Norcar 490 - I had one of these, superb little forwarder, could turn it on a sixpence
  6. IF you want a heizohack....
  7. Bet a mini loader would have brought it out faster than that thing... I can occasionaly be caught out... That big hedgecutter came as a surprise:ohmy:
  8. Very true. When you crane feed a disk, you effectively override the roller infeed, forcing material against the disk, putting severe axial load on the bearings and in the worst scenario, forcing it back against the housing. The other problem is infeed size. The bigger you go, you need to increase the size of the disk dramatically. Disk chippers are essentially outdated technology. A drum chipper gives you far more rotational torque, greater infeed / cutting mechanism size ratio, better knife wear, heavier bearing support and overall compactness. Trouble is, a good 3pl drum chipper is hard to find. What size tractor do you want to run it on? I can give you a lot more detail if you PM me.
  9. Cant remember exactly, probably about £60k
  10. Fert sacks are a right pain n the arse, asis bagging loose loads of logs. Buy enough in one go, and you'll get them cheap enough. PM me for details.
  11. You need a little Norcar 490 or Logset 500. Perfect little forwarders, will handle about 5 - 6 tonnes.
  12. Hi dave, the cones usually rotate at 540rpm, but I would'nt advise using them on knarly knotty logs. easy way to break your fingers. Which utility firm were you wroking for?
  13. If you look back through the pics there is one of the CSF in some cones 10ft apart. If you compare the specs, there is very little to choose between them, but I prefer the CSF
  14. Nothing like a putain de bonne dérailler. Adds a little piment de la vie to the thread... and piment is better than epinards.
  15. I look in on that site occasionaly, but my french is crap, and I struggle somewhat
  16. Heyyyyy...homoerotic comment not appreciated! “Oui, j’aime beaucoup le cafê, le cafê noir and très fort; très choud… ( inhales ) avec une cuillère dedans… ( mocking sound ) Ah, le virage de la cuillère; le virage des poitrines… Je mets la cuillère dans la bouche…”
  17. Andy, I am looking into the possibility of diversifying into netted logs. If you are willing to order enough, I reckon I would easily be able to supply net bags with small section logs. The point is, would you have enough margin in them?
  18. The size of the firm is often in direct inverse proportion to the uality of the work and equipment, even in the UK Excellent! glad to see the french have'nt turned into a bunch of poofs hiding behind bling chainsaw PPE. Nothing like flicking your gitane stub at the groundy refueling to keep them on their toes...As many who know me would confirm, I would probably fit in very well:001_smile: Sounds like good Rates. As some have already said, dont take any of these posts to harshly. I think that you are displaying a lot of balls, both in undertaking this particular proffesion (affliction?) and doing it in a foreign country. Keep up the good work... Ditto! Vive la France!
  19. Nets are still your best option for a canal boat I think, but maybe give them a bulk discount. What size logs do they need to be?
  20. Yes mate, the yellow cylinder is the first stage dryer, the tubes coming out are the second stage. That unit is set up to operate 24hours a day and give 500kgs per hour.
  21. Drying in a polytunnel with a conveyor? Unusual. Here is the plant I was specifying, in this picture it even has a chipper, although my specification did not need that, you would just load wet chip straight out of your transit into the hopper on the right.
  22. Igland make one, but I dont think its particularly good. That Hahn could be easily modified to fit an excavator. [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ws_iySdwEfE]YouTube - Igland Wp3000[/ame]
  23. Ok, I'm impressed. Looks like a very nasty accident waiting to happen though...
  24. Going through my messages now mate. will come back to you shortly
