  1. I don't climb trees anymore, I can make a living from carving now which is great! Am I weird to want to go back to climbing for recreational purposes??!!
  2. I like his PPE... I've used lots of echo saws, and have liked one or two of them, but every manufacturer has bad models on the market. I find they just tend to be low revving (can be fixed) and the larger models (5001 6702 8001 etc) are heavy for the power output.
  3. Petemate_390xp has done an awesome job on my 395xp, well worth the money if you want a hot saw without the risk of killing the engine. mine is tuned for carving work so I can get those big blocks off quickly. get in touch with him if you want the most out of your saws!!!
  4. evil evil evil nasty nasty!!! I've used that one before and i would do everything with chainsaw before using that again! V scary. get a grinder with a dead mans trigger is my opinion, as losing grip can become a scene from a b movie!
  5. Here's a Bull Mastiff I did for petemate_390xp btw pete, my 395 is amazing now!! if anyone wants a super tuned saw then pete is your man!!
  6. in fact, if your up in bonnie scotland, you're best off trying my mate iain chalmers. He's good at dogs. Chainsaw Creations - Home, is his website.
  7. I'll post a bull mastiff I did on here tomorrow if you like. you can at least see if you like my style. if not there's lots of carvers I know. Simon O’Rourke – Tree Carving Ltd
  8. uhhhuuhhuuhhh.... er... aahhhhhhh.

  11. Your dog is safely locked inside a solid log at the mo mate! is that your pimped 395 in the pic?
  12. Hi Tommy, thought that was you! The led zep one was done by my apprentice Steve, he'd had some previous art background before going into climbing. He's unfortunately given up carving now, concentrating on a graphic novel he's illustrating.
  13. forgot to add, lunch included :-) also includes timber and fuel. bring your own saws!
  14. I got the 4 foot alaskan, great bit of kit, definitly worth it!
  15. Hi everyone, sorry to post this twice, I didn't see the dedicated carving bit! I am running two carving courses in October for all UK based people with chainsaw qualifications (a LANTRA course to gain the qualification needed can be arranged). there will be a 3 day basic course and a 2 day intermediate course. If anyone is interested, please go to Simon O’Rourke – Tree Carving Ltd or email me - [email protected] If the timing isn't right I will organise more courses in the future Thanks, Simon:thumbup:

  17. its been a while since I felled one like that.
  18. spikes in the ankles??? I must confess I havn't climbed since January, so my back pain has transferred to the middle of my back from bending over (oo-er) chainsaw carving. I went full time carving in Jan cos I make more money from it.
