    If you have poured fuel directly into the cylinder it should at least fire, if not, it's the ignition, if it does fire but then stops, it's the fuel supply.

    I still have some bad habits and dodgy ways! I didn't know what a lanyard was for my first 4 years of climbing. Ha,ha, same as and how about this for a back in time picture? Australia.

    Have you changed the fuel filter? Sound like maybe dodgy ignition especially as you have poured fuel straight into the cylinder, I normally pour fuel into the carb, you may have a spark but it may not be sufficient to run the saw, have you tried a different plug? Check all the wiring, it may be earthing on something.
