  1. About time he earned his money, cant believe he took 2 days to do that tiddler:001_rolleyes:
  2. Back in the 80's, work was in short supply, so I did 3 months in a dog food factory. All the animal waste from slaughterhouses would come in skips, was tipped on the floor and had to be shovelled into the giant mincer machines. Wellies would rot through in a week, the goo would get into your skin forming pustules. 2 showers would not get the smell off you. Rats running everywhere, cleaning the drains of pigs testicles was a highlight:001_rolleyes: It was the most disgusting, soul destroying job I ever had the pleasure of doing, and H&S simply did not exist there.
  3. I'm not going to quote AAOils reply, but thanks for a clear and concise factual reply.
  4. haha, qualifying below the USA, hardly convinces me as to our chances, and against "below average" opposition
  5. I run a 15" on my 260 no probs, I'd get the Stihl bar tbh, but its only a personal preference.
  6. http://msucares.com/newsletters/pests/infobytes/images/photinia.gif yours doesnt look as severe on the leaf you've shown
  7. Some varieties of Photinia are susceptible to fire-blight, these of course will need incinerating if thats the case.
  8. I would just give them a general purpose feed, such as Phostrogen, and follow instructions, dont over-feed though. Also given the very dry period we've had I should give them a nice little drink too. Are they mulched? If not mulch around the roots, no more than 4inchs, but not right up to the trunks, this will help retain the moisture in the soil esp in this hot spell.
  9. have you noticed any spots on the foliage? Photinia can suffer from Photinia Leaf Spot if subjected to particualrly cold winters (such as the one we had this year) This may lead to defoliation. Leaf spot is an environmental disorder, and is not usually fatal to the plants. I would give them a liquid feed to help them pick up, just once a year, as a healthier plant is less susceptible to disorders. I'm also suspecting the young buds/growth have been hit by the cold Northerly winds which kept on coming this year, and maybe even the late frosts nipped new growth.
  10. My point is more with the title of this thread than a criticism of the product, Benzene is no longer used in petrol, MTBE's (which replaced benzene) have been replaced with alkalytes as they were then proven harmful to the environment. If pump fuel already uses alkalytes, then what is to be gained from using the Aspen product? Surely it is now the same argument as using bottled water versus tap water? Of course, if you prefer to buy a pre-mixed 2stroke fuel, which is consistently mixed at the exact ratio required, then this is the way forward. At the end of the day, it is down to the consumer, and I do think it is good for the consumer to have the choice.
  11. Sorry tommer, but this is Aspens own forum, they can push their products in here to their hearts content
  12. Dont get me wrong, I am not knocking any of Aspens products, just seeking answers to nagging questions, after all if they wish us to pay 3x the price of pump fuel, its the least they can do.
  13. If Benzene was replaced by MTBE's, which then replaced with alkylates at 10% on pump fuel, why the thread title?
  14. Some more info, seems MTBE's are now replaced at the pump with alkylates anyway, dunno if this applies in the UK, but the States now incorporate it at manufacture Next round of gas hikes won?t be due to oil - Oil & energy- msnbc.com if this is the case, why buy Aspen? PS This isnt meant as a dig at Aspen, and if Aspen fuels care to inform us further, I welcome this.
  15. MTBE seems nothings safe:scared1:
  16. So are MTBE's safer than benzene, or is this an unknown?
  17. LOve that set up, I looked at the cranes but thought they were far too slow!! Shame that one on eBay is so far away, def worth the 500ish too!
  18. The Stellar is the best, talons will crush a seals skull:001_cool: yet it can land to the gauntlet as light as a feather with a 7foot wingspan. Only 6 of these birds in captivity. The bald Eagle was a rescue egg, when a forest fire threatened the nest area. The vulture is only 6 months old and is still being trained, and gets a bit mischievous, disobeying instruction and doing its own thing. The display was limited for space, but they fly at Warwick Castle, and you can book to go and participate with the birds. Check out Pirds of prey - Hawk Experience offers the ultimate in Birds of Prey handling experiences. I'm gonna book up sometime and go for this.
  19. My fathers day treat, going to see these splendid birds in display. The big eagle is a Stellar Sea Eagle, the owl is Verraux(sp?) Eagle Owl, Bald Eagle and a Vulture (cool and mischievous)
  20. I always "review" things if there is a substantial difference between my price and other quotes, if I'm too high or lower makes no difference. I was happy with the price for the work carried out, just couldnt see how they came up with their figures.

    Deer

When my mate was studying up at Penrith, they lived off the land. So they decided if you kill it you should eat it. They killed a fox, and tried to eat it. But it was so rank it was unbearable to eat. My dad always said you should never eat anything that scavenged carrion.
