  1. your lads are in for a shock me thinks Iain lol
  2. Nice tunes Ed, I've not listened to juno much but must remember to make an effort
  3. Cheers Ed!
  4. The topping cut in your case
  5. You would be more than welcome Peter.
  6. now i know why there are never any pies left at your local shop:wave: Anytime Dean sounds like fun
  7. nothing wrong with a nice leather basque (although they do chafe a bit). Was a fine night out in Leeds, especially with the lovely lady who invited me:)
  8. Are you locking your arm whilst tending the slack? It reduces the effort required massivley. It's best retrieved with the retriever ball attached to the spliced eye. If you use the plain end you will need longer cord on the ball so it hangs free of the tail.
  9. Have you a pic of that you can post please
  10. some folks are too stupid even to get one of these http://www.darwinawards.com/ I'm sure they will if they persist though
  11. http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&client=firefox-a&channel=s&rls=org.mozilla%3Aen-GB%3Aofficial&hs=TnS&q=holder+A60+skidder+forestry+machines&btnG=Search&meta=cr%3DcountryUK%7CcountryGB I tried googling it for you but only came up with Arbtalk lol
  12. You could always point the chute down a bit? The tarp will save loads of tidy-up time if your not going to enclose the top
  13. I agree, but it also pushes the cost up markedly on an item that is not used everyday
  14. i have personal experiance of self rescue after a cut that lacerated an artery. A cool head and a speedy decent saved my life. Imo any rescue by another climber that day would have been to retrieve my body:scared:
  15. Pmsl!!!
  16. BUMP! Anyone know if carrying a silky as opposed to a knife and a silky is acceptable under best practice?
  17. I get your point about the system currently in use. I prefered the old one with no determinate formula. The hard/soft lasndscape around root has always presented issues. A bowling green of a lawn (constantly rolled and cut therefore well compacted) surley would be as restrictive to root growth as a shallow metaled surface? I'm just trying to illustrate the inflexibility of the current system in my eyes. Anyone agree?
  18. 10 years at least, it was not enough then for the work and responsability we had. Until the public profile of the industry increases, wages like this are going to remain all too common. The level of skill and professionalism required has increased, so why not the pay scales?
  19. It does sound like kickback. I hope it was over fast for him. Sobering for all of us i'm sure
  20. funny comentary:). Mogs are wasted on most tree companies, I know a couple who don't even like to get them dirty!
  21. I'm sure it will serve you well. Much better than the old willans "nappy" I bet
  22. I agree with your point totally. The harsh reality of not being able to have cctv and personal security do stack the odds. Few thieves will go for well protected premises/posessions
  23. Do you work for a small or large outfit Rentachimp? Those wages remind me of a figure quoted by someone working for a massive national company.
  24. I'll disagree there. As consumers we pay for those thefts through inflated prices. I'd beg before I stole anything
